Hi' I want want to show you guys a project I have been working on with my brother,
2010 Rmz 450 converted to electric. The goal is to have around 43 hp.
And this is not the number that will be on the bike!

About 746 watts per 1 HP, but I’m sure you knew that

You have a workbench/rollaway/kiln oven behind the bike which is painted gray. For a moment I thought it was a fugly frame extension that was going to render the front suspension worthless. "What was he thinking??" Haha.

Interesting build. I'd like to hear how it performs. Where did you get the motor?

Looks like you guys have moved the countershaft sprocket by quite a bit.

I'm assuming you guys have worked the suspension through full stroke to ensure there's no chain torque that will affect the suspension under load. It looks like it might bind up pretty good along the bottom of the swingarm at full compression.

Neat project for sure. I'd love to see more the build.

Have not weighted it yet the still a couple tings to be don, but it should en up lighter than the original bike. Also does anybody know the weight of an 450 engine? My 350sxf weights 58 lbs

The motor is from a chinese company. Looking around online I have seen good review about it but I havent seen people who used it for motocross riding more like enduro. So we will try it. The goal for this bike is to be able to performe on an mx track like the alta. There is also the possibility that it is going to be a piece of shit haha we will see. And considering the countershaft if there is a problem we can always build another version.

wow, that would be awesome if lighter than the original. I was looking at an Alta awhile back until I pulled it off the stand and could barely put it back on. That thing felt like a ton of bricks.

oh.. you can do the "conversion"...... but in electric, spodes use the term horsepower... WATTAGE is the terminology most commonly used.... you wanky boomer you..... LMFAO......

When you look at an electric car or bike conversion..... to get an idea of performance, the big two are gonna be cell count (overall voltage) and size & kV of the motor....... kV is a measure of the RPM output of a motor, at a given input voltage.... for example.... an 800kV motor will do 800 rpm with 1 volt of input power...... when we go to buy a new motor in the future (and they are called electric motors, not engines) you will look for the number of poles you want, the magnet type, and the proper kV rating for your cell count.... .. and of course.. the higher the cell count, the easier it will be to make BIG power.... You can make big power on lower voltage, but then you start drawing insane current...

That is really cool! I'm assuming the torque is phenomenal? What is the power delivery like, smooth or abrupt?

As much as it pains me to say this, I'm actually looking forward to seeing the progression of the E market. I'm thinking a stripped down MX bike or a DH MTB on steroids. Saw one recently that I thought was really cool, the Alta. And then they were gone!
