Hi' I want want to show you guys a project I have been working on with my brother, 2010 Rmz 450 converted to electric. The goal is to have around 43 hp. And this is not the number that will be on the bike!
I was browsing around and came across Xtrac transmissions. Noticed they have a photo of Davalos in their motorcycle section. Does Xtrac do trannies for some of the teams? Coatings? Special gears? Looks like they do some pretty trick stuff in the car racing worlds. https://www.xtrac.com/sectors/motorsport/motorcycle/Just curious is all.
I had an RM that the previous owner put a standard plug in instead of a race plug with a welded electrode. Electrode broke off and it looked just like that. Before you put it back together pull the whole engine out and flush the bottom end a few times with diesel fuel in case any metal made its way...
Yes! I was out running in a nearby field recently. It is actually listed as a local "parkland" but it is more like a wasteland. A dad was out there with his four year old kid on cheap electric mini he had picked up at some local auto shop. Dad doesn't know anything about the sport, how to work on bikes and is definitely not interested in dropping $$$$. He can throw this thing in the back of his Rav4, drive 10 minutes and take junior riding. The kid is in jeans with skateboard pads and a skateboard helmet. Yes...
Cheap, low cost electric trials bikes. Reasons: They don't make any sound, you can ride them anywhere, Mom and dad are less likely to say no because of danger, there's hardly any maintenance involved to turn people away. Make them bluetooth to your cellphone so you can record riding stats and share/compete with friends etc. and hit social media hard...
The "I was able to achieve my goals and I’m forever grateful for the opportunity" part almost makes it sound like he's considering calling it quits too. The guy has an engineering degree and obviously high level motorcycle knowledge so I could see him wanting to go out on top and pursue other technical avenues before he completely wrecks his...
If I were a team manager, one of the first things I would do is spend a long weekend, a week, whatever it takes, to teach a rider about every aspect of the bike and what every adjustment can do. Start in a classroom environment, and then go to the track making changes one adjustment at a time until he's felt every adjustment on that bike. Do this on a short test track designed with the primary features found on most tracks. At a minimum, when they are done, the rider must know what every adjustment does, how it feels...
Interesting. Not saying you're wrong but I just assumed the gold cap on the upper left of that cover was the oil fill port with the one on the bottom being the drain. My thought is that there could be a clutch mounted behind the red cover in the motor cases in area that has a circular shape to it...
Anyone else see what appears to be a bleeder on the top of the right side motor cover (red anodized part)? Obviously there’s no clutch lever on the prototype but i’m wondering if that might be subterfuge on Honda’s part because that’s exactly where I’d expect a hydro clutch slave cylinder. If not then doesn anyone have a guess on...
