I’m gonna be a tad delayed. I’m picking up the bike tomorrow. Gonna do initial impression on Friday.

MXA has a couple short clips on their instagram already... no ride report though, not sure how that fits with the embargo.

If it’s anything like the 2015 and 2018 I bought, it’ll be utter shit until a revalve and a peach afterward.

My only knock on the bike is the cable/hydroline routing. I feel like it was an after though just slapped on. Compare to ktm. But still buying one.

Why does the Japanese bikes still have the strap on the number plate?

Awesome bike.

Main reason they still have it is because they don't incorporate teh front brake hose guide into the plate the way KTM/Husky does so they have to have a way to keep the hose from snagging the plate.

3lbs lighter. All the Honda guys had decided it was going to be 20lbs lighter and the most revolutionary bike ever. Looks like a good effort but it's still a fat pig. Almost the same weight as a (GASP) Suzuki

Has a skid plate and spring forks. Throw that on a Austrian bike like most do.

I think the weight was already known. What was not known was the handling, engine and suspension character. I think it is safe to say at this point they missed the mark.

I wonder if you even listened to the initial (note...initial) ride reports. Handling is better than before, power is better, suspension although feeling soft (possibly because of less harsher frame) is still good with a few clicks ....so not sure why you think they missed the mark?

I don't always agree with the test results in my world. Going by what they are currently saying I don't think King Honda redesigned the entire bike to finish 5th. To me that's a miss.

Despite where the CRF finishes in shootouts it's still the best selling 450. This is Honda's goal, selling bikes. If the bike is a bit better than the previous generation in most every way then I don't see a sales trend changing. Call it a miss or whatever you want, people will buy this bike and probably love it.

Was hoping Honda would strive for some more straight line stability and calm the bike down a bit. How Swap was explaining a sweeper being broken into two sharp turns is my main issue I hate about my current Honda.

100% , it turns too well imo . Always feel like you have to sit on the back of the bike in sweepers

Funny I seem to see twice as many orange, blue and green late model 450's at my local tracks.
