saw a few Instagram post of new Honda 450's on the showroom floor. Chaparral in Socal has a few. Anyone pick theirs up yet?

Got a call from a local dealer with an offer to buy a 2021 250F for $9500 OTD. Found it amusing and thanked him for his time.

I got quoted $8500 in Oklahoma at one dealer, they were saying each dealer is only getting 1 250F for September and the rest in December. I called around more and found a better deal, just waiting on the bike to show up. It was supposed to ship September 8th, but that’s come and gone...

That was a repost of bikes at Honda (media units), my comment was pointing towards Chaparral still having some that haven’t been claimed in their allotment. They should be at the dealership in the next week to ten days it sounds like.

So when do you figure your 450 and 250 shootouts will hit the net?

GAWD, I must have been in a Cave.
Who in their right mind would consider a MX bike for 8,000 + Grand? (More if it's backed by a bank) The interest rate alone is a car payment.
Folks are making much more money then I.

What time of the year are new bikes in dealerships normally? July?

Go and check out the Intense Tazer MX thread here, and check the price: rrp $7995.00. Also, check the prices of any high end E MTB, or, indeed, any High End MTB / Bicycle.

Comparatively speaking, we ICE Motored Dirt Bike riders have absolute bargains on offer to us. And this is coming from a bloke that makes Bicycle (and Motorcycle) frames.

Tell me about it, I just bought a new mountain bike last week for $4,000 and it doesn’t have a motor! One of my biggest regrets is buying my current Husqvarna for $12,000 and seeing the price slashed almost in half when the 2020’s came out. Action sports are not cheap!

My buddy just bought a new MTB for him and one for his GF. $4000 each. I looked him straight in the eye and said, “dude just one bike alone was a used YZ250 with a full rebuild. Both MTB’s together was a YZ250.” He looked at me, shook his head and said, “I know.”

I love MX too much so for me, I always compare price of almost anything to a bike that I want or new parts for a bike I already have.

I just can’t justify anything over $300 for a bicycle.

Haha I can totally relate! Nowadays, I ride my mtb a ton more so it was a good investment for me. Not to mention, my wife bought it for me lol! I originally sold my mountain bike to buy her engagement ring and now that we’re married, she bought me the bike I wanted.

The mtb brigade are suckers and will argue black and blue to defend and justify their stupidity.
Too many goobers have infiltrated MTB’ing recently.

There is a "sweet spot" in bicycles that is above 300 and below 4000.

Comparing dirt bike prices to high-end bicycles is irrelevant. High- end bicycles are decked in carbon fiber and after market parts. An all aluminum bike for comparison is about as far as you can go for that point and is drastically cheaper.

This is one of the most uneducated comments to date.....the comparison is not even close. A mid-level MTB ($4000) is equivalent to a HEP Suzuki privateer bike and a top end bike is Roczen or Tomacs bike....and they are made in multiple sizes. In moto, you cannot buy the absolute best whereas in cycling you can buy the exact bike the best in the world ride.

How many bikes do you think Honda would sell if they were 60K with Carbon everywhere, full ti hardware, works motor and suspension etc? Oh yeah....and then you would complain the maintenance required on the motor. Look at street bikes.....some are approaching 100K now for the elite italian brands and even a CBR 1000 SP is almost 30K.

You can argue that too many goobers have entered moto as well. With The pandemic, we’re seeing new people entering all kinds of new sports and buying up all kinds of new toys.

Lol my sweet spot for a bicycle is between $150-$250. Anything above $300 I see big items for moto. Anything about $800 I start seeing dirtbikes and rebuilds lol. Just how I’ve programmed myself

I don't know why that HRC logo isn't on every Honda; it's a thing of beauty.

yup. I try to explain that to my moto buddies. They think i'm nuts that i spend the money i do on my mountain bikes (4400 and 5500usd) but then they wonder why every time they ride their 500 dollar craigslist special it breaks.
