Yes, this is still considered littering. Just like fold up chairs and empty cans/bottles. I don't know if it's because there's a crowd around that makes people think it's okay or if they think they're doing someone a favor by leaving them a "free canopy" but someone (typically the track owners/workers) still has to go around and take them all down and deal with disposing them.

Happens every year without fail, please just clean up after yourselves and leave the place the way it was when you showed up.

Where is this ocurring ? I can honestly say I've never seen anyone leave anything of value at a MX track. A mess maybe but nothing it takes money to replace.

No kidding, unless it’s one destroyed by the wind, who’s leaving one at the track? And what track owner is complaining about people leaving $100 ez ups at the track?

I can honestly say I have never seen a perfectly working canopy left just sitting there. Things are pricy. The ones all mangled from the wind yea that’s lame to leave behind. But if you’re leaving a fully functioning canopy, whoever has to clean that up just made 100 bucks on offer up

Broken ones are even worse yeah but you can get an EZ-UP canopy from Walmart for like $45, no ones buying a cheap used canopy for $100...

Trust me, it's a pain and leaving them behind is not a generous move. Shit just get's tossed in the bin. I've helped tear down some tracks just out of generosity and boredom because I'm typically there by myself and stay overnight. You'd be amazed at the amount of stuff people leave behind because they're too lazy at the end of the day to pack it back up and take it home.

Even broken ones take home. Use or cut canopy. Use or recycle/trash cheap steel. Leave track a little better than when you arrived!

I have an EZ up that I built out of 3 that were wind tossed at our track and left like 15 years ago. I've had enough parts to fix that thing probably 3 times.

Same. I have 3 10x10's and a 10x20 that have lasted about 10-11 years from being repaired with abandon frames at the track. Have enough spare parts for them to outlast the canopies

There’s a huge difference between the ozark trail shitty one from Walmart and I ne from and the actual ez up name brand one. You bet your ass people are paying 100 dollars for used ones.

I have to throw away three after this weekend that people left at the track. Add to that 6 cheap folding chairs and for some reason people leave bags full of garbage by the can instead of taking them to the dumpsters that are by the gates. Monday morning before anyone can pick up track the birds go through the plastic and scatter the trash all over the place.

A simple post asking people to pack out what they pack in and there's disagreement, I swear the entitlement of some people knows no bounds. . .

Well, maybe they are just reserving the pit location for next weekend...

Scrappers have been known to clean up the whole facility as long as they get the scrap.

Jeez. That’s a lot of scrap! I take my comment back...saying that they really shouldn’t let people bring them in to save spots for spectating

How many things do you have right now you could sell for $100 that you don't use? Probably quite a bit, selling shit is a PITA, don't try to justify some asshole leaving his shit at the track.

Like has been said, if you bring it, you should be taking it away.

As someone who has worked organizing races, it would be real easy to say 'fuck it ' and not bother, seeing what people leave.

People heap their junk in a bag and drive off and leave it, i have chased people and said ' you forgot this' ..

On the flip side a friend got all sorts of grief because he didnt have the full set of dirty kit that someone had stuck in a black bag, and then left by accident. Apparently they should have checked what was in the bags.. a reminder that they would still have it if they took their crap home with them wasnt appreciated.
