You both should stop hi-jacking the thread. Get a room.

Hopefully the rest of the thread doesn’t get clipped in the process.

How did a BMX argument start up in a dirt bike motor thread? That isn't off the rails....that's like a completely different universe type thing.

They got lost on their way to the bar.

The man lost his son a few years ago...then had serious heart issues which I beleive let to bypass and getting off the booze. He really probably don't give much of a shit anymore. He's always been a great guy from my interactions...but father time catches up to us all. You guys should take this private...this thread isn't going anywhere helpful.

This thread is doing exactly what it should, warn the public that if they do business with Varner that he doesn't give a shit anymore (your words) and you will be lucky to get your parts back in two years.

Hopefully it prevents another person from the same frustration that those who have posted have experienced.

I planned a trip for two years. Growing up in So Cal and living in Seattle now, I managed to get back down to do some riding I actually enjoy and have dearly missed (the woods suck). I got to ride with my cousin which never happened when I lived in Cali as he’s ten years younger then myself. I tore my bike down to the bare frame and went through everything. I thought about sending my cylinder off to Varner. After thinking about it, I sent it to Millennium for a replate and matched piston. I got everything back in three weeks. Not three months, a year, or two but, in three weeks. Had I sent it to Varner, my trip would not have happened. Now with this Covid shit going on, who knows when I would’ve been able to get back down there. Many have missed races and have handed money over up front. Whether Varner has personal issues or not, he’s doing the moto community a huge disservice and himself as well. The thread needs to stay up.
People planning trips and races that can’t happen because of some guy who’s unable to get around to doing the work he was paid to do need to know the headaches they’ll unfortunately have to deal with. I hope people wanting him to do their work look up reviews and this thread is the first thing to pop up. Father Time catches up with everyone. I agree. That’s what retirement is for. Some people just need to know when to throw in the towel.

Why doesn't someone local to Varner go to his shop, pick up the stuff and send it to the owner? I suspect someone here is in So Cal and knows Terry.... Just DO IT! Lol...

I wasn't implying that Varner is an acholholic. I don't know anything about that. I was replying to the BMX guys post about someone being drunk and out of control at the BMX track.

I only quoted COAL-TRAIN for the "He really probably don't give much of a shit anymore."

OLDMOTO you've been helpful through all this.

dkurtd Thanks buddy. It's easy for things to get muddled on these forums. As we've seen.

Still no word from him. I did have another person try and contact him. We'll see.

So basically if anyone goes public about how he has screwed them he's gonna screw them more? Pretty sad that this is what it has come to with someone I would consider a legend in this industry.

This thread is a 14 page advertisement for any 2 stroke builder in the world besides Varner and at this point that is what he deserves if his attitude is as you said.

Even crazier is that he has the nerve to bullshit so many people then still show up all over BroCal to help out his buddies and dudes connected to the "scene".

So reading between the lines, he has now decided to intentionally not address the work he was supposed to do......

Sounds great.

By the way, it sounds like all these guys DID try to keep it between themselves, and that didn't get them any progress either.

A lot of us are following this thread waiting for an end result that is positive. I'll also take this opportunity to tell anyone reading this that TZR Motorsports is a great company to do business with. No affiliation....i'm just particular about my bikes and they get it done.

F this guy legend or not for screwing with my Moto-brothers.

Exactly. Simple, do the work you were paid for and return it to the customer.
