Looks like they changed the filter and dumped as much coolant as they could into it. On start it was pouring smoke, so it probably sucked in a lot of dust on this race. Second time that this happened to Grant/Sherco this season, will see if it seizes up on him again near the end.
IDK wtf they were thinking. First it was blue smoke. If nothing else add some f’ing oil. Second, you think being the other raced they DNF’d was exactly the same type of dirt they would have focused on changing an air filter at the pit stop or sealing up the airbox.

I personally think the team is doing the bike an injustice.

No clue, it's really strange to me. KR would have gotten 2nd and still held a very big lead. He definitely let him pass, as that's the reason KR looked so pissed at the end of the race.

Heard KR's interview. sounds legit. toth got caught behind a lapper up a hill.

Edit: KR is pissed because they didn't change filter and made the same exact mistake last year at the same venue.

I suspect he wanted to do it but got overruled by the team manager.

Yeah I guess that makes more sense. Didn't see he had broke his shifter as well. That's gotta be frustrating.

Only thing I can think of is the time it takes to change it..... They didn't want to lose that much time.

First GNCC I have watched in a long time and it sure was exciting. Brings back memories of when I rode hare scrambles in that same area, many years ago. Good times!

Thad is out. Ricky Russell is out. Stu still sitting. Bollinger is out. Ben Kelley still getting up to speed so far. Toth hasn't shown the same speed he did a couple years ago. It's not like there are 5-8 dudes out there right now that can win the overall like we've seen in years past.

I've followed GNCC for 25 years now and raced against lots of guys who were Pros and A class GNCC guys, I get it.
Ansley, Draper, and Lafferty all beat him. I think it goes to show how fast those guys are, and how specialized GNCC racing is at the highest level. That said, Zach did freakin awesome for racing nothing but supercross the last few months! Dude can adapt so good to different disciplines.

So it looks like there is a skillset to off-road racing after all!

And having moto skills don't just mean you can immediately ride off-road well.

Zacko just won the last SX race. Off-road is tough, go figure Wink

It’s a bummer because the course was the farthest from what he would need to be competitive. There where a decent amount of field sections, but there was a ton of tight woods with plenty of roots. I would love to see how he could do at the Florida gncc or camp Coker.

So Kailubs bike was blowing smoke and somehow made up 5-10 seconds on an uphill in July 3 hours deep....?

ehhhhhhhhh I dunno. The last shot they showed of Toth he was elbows up and charging. Doesnt make sense.

But anyways. Great race today.

They’re on the same team, I don’t think they would plan to change only one guys filter. You also have to account for home limping it it when they told him to save the bike.

Maybe Zac was just out to have a ride,
and did not put in 100% race pace in fear of an injury for the upcoming ( maybe ) MX outdoor season.
