Now I wish I didn't sell my bike above market value.

If they only run on the continent then they might get away with it, unlike Britain and America they took it seriously, acted accordingly and now look to be in a pretty good place.

My work recently told us all to expect to work from home until January at least, maybe longer depending....I was expecting this news to come soon after and sure enough. This really sucks.

Sadly, practically everything we read is written by somebody with an agenda. And obviously, it is much easier to start with the desired conclusion and make the date fit.

This is one of the reasons the 7 races at SLC were so awesome - they were pretty much free of politics!

I wish people could learn that increased testing is going to result in increased numbers, and has nothing to do with deaths. Just about everything you do nowadays you have to be tested (work, flights, events, etc.). How people can't see that is what is driving (massively flawed) statistics that people are ignorantly bundling to people in death beds all around them is freaking bizarre. So basically we are all forced into, or will be forced into being tested. There is a LOT of positive tests for folks who have had it, and didn't even know it, and are now carrying positive immunity, out into the public for all. My whole family is about to get tested, and if we have had it (I suspect we may have), guess what, we are healthy people that just added four more positive Covid cases to help inflate that data everyone is freaking out about.

I know the virus is real, it killed my life-long best friend's dad, I know the virus is gnarly in the wrong person. My only point, the data you guys are freaking out about, is crap and some people are banking on it.

As I posted in the other thread...

The temporary postponement of Lucas Oil Pro Motocross has more to due with several of the states that host rounds of the series, as well as California, where many of the professional teams are based. Tennessee, where Loretta Lynn's is located, does not have the same current challenges that some of the other states have and we are confident that the amateur event will go on, with proper social-distancing protocols in place.

Governor Lee of TN just held a press conference concerning COVID-19. He extended the state of emergency through August 29th. The state of emergency has verbiage concerning gatherings of 50 or more and contact sports.

How about Mandan Motocross in ND? This place looks like it has potential!!

Seriously, the NBA is doing the "bubble" in Orlando. SX pulled it off in SLC and Golf is going, NASCAR is going, has to be a way if we can find the "place" to do it.

The percent of positive tests is way up, which is the number you want to look at. It’s not just more tests. As you test less symptomatic people, you’d expect the percent positive rate to go down if the virus isn’t spreading. That’s not the case.

Protests certainly had something to do with this, but the main place of transmission is indoors, so it certainly was not the only thing.

It really sucks we couldn’t get our shit together to beat the virus enough to be able to hold the nationals.

I don’t think that has anything to do with the spike because the news told us it was ok to protest and riot.

Last weekend we kicked off the new CMMX series up here in Montana. 271 riders and perfect conditions. Everyone followed the social distancing guidelines and things were done by 3:30pm, it was an awesome day. Here are a few pics from the weekend. The cool thing this weekend was all the first time racers, the industry boom of sales showed out at the track, great for moto! Clearly there is no where up here for a national but we are open for moto.

What a JOKE. Look at the death numbers....of course there’s a spike when you test more and more people. Jesus should we go test an entire college for STDs or something and then cancel school cus there’s a spike? What a joke of a world we live in
You are the joke in this case.
Like everything else in life.
SOLUTION or PROBLEM...
Decide which one bung hole you want to climb up into and be part of.
It's yer choice.

The majority of the USA will end up having contracted covid19 before we get too far along. It may slow down, but it WILL spread just like the common cold does. You cannot stop it. The good news is the majority of the people under 60-65 with healthy immune system won't have an issue with it. We NEED "herd immunity" to help protect the elderly. What I mean is with enough of the people that have antibodies to it, it won't spread as fast or as easy and thus the compromised elderly or immune compromised will have less chance of exposure to it.

I am just damn disgusted with the politics of it all, they (the ones at the top) really don't give a rats ass right now about you or me, they have turned covid19 into a political war hammer. And until one side wins the war, policy will continue to be based on that. You can pretty much guarantee that once the election is over, covid19 will be a different animal. Right now, that policy is loosely based on actual science. Mass media fear mongering and agendas are all that matters.

Again, no they did not. The news said it was ok for us to protest in the middle of a pandemic. Just no gatherings of any other kind. Those are bad.

I'll take the hit.

I agree with the decision.
I believe it was the correct decision.

I believe the health and well being of the fans, team members, riders, their families, the hotel employees, restaurant staff, pilots, flight attendants, gate agents, rental car staff, Uber drivers, helmet/gear/boot reps, product reps, OEM staff, team sponsors, event sponsors, media, event gate staff, flaggers, security, is what is most important and more important than any race.

If they want to do it in a bubble, like was done in SLC, I'd be fine with that.

But right now, in this moment, the right decision is to step back, reevaluate and come up with a new plan.

This is exactly what we need to see. Where it's working and has been successfully produced. I hope you guys keep it up and it runs without a hitch... Maybe the powers that be can try a slice of your pizza... Wink

Good luck and moto on!

Very sad to see the series postponed once again, however given what is currently happening, it is hardly a surprise that races held in front of fans could not happen.

Fingers crossed things return to a level of normality sooner rather than later and we can get back racing.

Hopefully the journey to that point is done with as little impact on peoples health and livelihoods as possible. Crazy times we live in.

Got on the phone with Tim Cotter if you want to hear some more details from MX Sports' side of things. There'll be a transcription done tomorrow for those of you that prefer to read.

(Sorry for spamming/linking out, but information from the source will bring more clarity to the situation than the emotional meltdowns we've seen in every thread since March.)
