Yea, he spent a lot of time doing bike builds and videos when he should have been working on wining races.

Alternative scenario...He spent a lot of his free time, still promoting Honda and his sponsors.

A lot of people do that for companies that support them financially. Especially at that level. Pretty standard.

I just don't think or see the guys winning races are making a lot of videos. They are putting in the work to win.

Cole did help promoting the new CRF450L tbh but was it really significative for Honda? I don't think so...

So he’s not supposed to brush his teeth, walk the dog, get groceries? You can’t be working to win 24x7x365. Maybe videos aren’t their (the others) thing. To each their own but to say making videos a reason he wasn’t prepared is a bit of a stretch, maybe that’s all he had, we saw the best of him. Everyone can’t be a champion. Pretty sure he knew it was coming to an end and was preparing for the after life is all.

BTW, weren’t a lot of his (or the start) of his videos made when he was recovering from injury???

I just messaged him an essay on why the new queso is horrible. Hopefully he sees it and he considers changing his mind

Damn, didn’t realize there was so much disdain for Seely on here.

Curious what brand he thinks isn’t treating him well or hasn’t in the past. But from what I’ve gathered, once you’re out of the racing scene, most companies forget about you. Maybe he’s just struggling with the switch from racing to regular life.

Remove racing and insert any other sport or just normal job and the same thing applies. It's called life.

I mean he’s obviously pretty relevant in the moto community if you guys started a thread about him and are all putting your input. there’s a lot behind the scenes that happens and maybe he will be honest about that stuff.

Cole’s major sponsors have seemed to have stuck with him through some difficult times during his racing career, so it should be interesting to hear what he is talking about.

Exactly. This is the insanity of this fucking place. No intellectual consistency.

So now that he's retired it's totally cool to shit all over him and speculate?

Y'all bitch non stop anout how opaque the indusrty is and this guy actually wants to let sunshine in on some of the bullshit the industry does and you sum bitches go ballistic on his ass.

Never cease to amaze. I was in the industry for a short time and sorry folks, we're not dealing with the best and the brightest here. There's a shit ton of petty, stupid shit that does go on and should he called out.

I don't give one fuck about the brain trust running this sport into the ground and the way you all suckle the teet like somehow your paycheck depends on it is disgusting. Grow some balls people.

Yeah I know. That’s why I said maybe he’s just struggling with the transition into regular life, away from racing.

My guess is Honda stopped giving him bikes and/or support and rightfully so. Generally quitting causes that and he was on the same line as Weimer anyway.....shouldn't have been on a factory bike and was basically a fluffer for the real factory guys. I am not saying he wasn't terrific on a bike, but second tier is second tier.

When I think of Troy Lee Designs gear, first rider that pops in my mind is Steve Lamson. I still wear TLD to this day because of how cool I thought Lamson looked in it when I was a kid. Seeing the KTM makes me wonder if maybe he teamed up with TLD for something. Will be interesting to see what Seely is talking about though.

These guys retire and expect to be a brand ambassador for the rest of their lives or something? They should be the first ones to know that once you're not showing up to races nobody cares about you anymore.

That's what it sounds like to Me Too! And if it is directed at Honda that's pretty lame I mean how much money did he make of his career? And now hes gotta pay for a bite? Drab..... It cracks me up how out of touch with reality some of these racers are when they actually have to pay for a bike how much of a fuss they put up with it $10000 bikes the rest of us pay for these guys been getting their whole life are free and expect to continue to do so?

I never suspected Cole as a raging cusser. Maybe I'm thinking of Weimer.

I think it's just a general distaste for his choice to become a full-time "influencer", and all that entails.

That whole fad has just become a bit tiresome.

I also feel that right or wrong, there's a perception that Seely is a guy who didn't take his opportunities as seriously as he should.

Seely seems like a regular, nice dude who is trying a bit too hard to get some kind of street image going. I don't know the guy, but this just seems forced.

Dude he was consistently a top 5 threat. How the hell is that considered a "fluffer" for factory guys? A guy running 5th-10th place normally shouldn't be on a factory bike???
