In the 70's I was referred to a Toad once. I was a weapons specialist on aircraft and they called us load toads. I was not offended. But my skin was not green either.
I hate it when a thread gets clipped. I despise it. We are mostly grown ups and I at least know which comment to ignore and just scroll past it. I understand not everyone can do that.
I would recommend it a thread gets out of hand don’t delete the thread just put something above a comment that says. “This comment has violated board rules”. That way people know what’s good and what’s not. Then you can just delete that comment later if need be.
As far as threads like the dungey one you can clean it up then lock it. Everything has been said on it so lock the thread.
No easy answer. Just try different things. Let people moderate themselves as much as possible and know that 95 percent of the people on here scroll right past the stupid comments or argument comments anyways.
This is a discussion board and it’s fun and entertaining and we like to shoot the shit. Even if some of us say stupid shit it’s just still fun to shoot the shit.

Oh and BTW GuyBro, you are the one that said get it off your chest, so I'm not sure why you clipped a few people when you asked for it, to begin with, right? That's like picking a fight drunk outside the bar with someone, then suing them when they whip your ass.
He has an image he has to tread carefully with as well being at the races so he needs to be mindful of not only riders and there families and insiders that he is with week in and week out but also provide enough flexibility for his customer base that comes here and pays the bills. So it’s a fine line.
One thing I have learned and maybe he should as well is we feel different day in and day out. Some things hype us up more than others and the next day might be in a different mood. I don’t take stuff on here to heart very much because people tend to spout off more behind a keyboard and anonymity. Sometimes we are just bored. However like all things in life there has to be order and rules.
I read a few and had thought about commenting , and then I was like " Nah.....I already said my bit , no need to repeat it". The irony was , they were trying to paint me as something I'm not , all while making themselves look exactly like what they were preaching against.
Both are benign posts. Doesn’t make sense to me.
Still haven’t figured out what’s safe and what isnt.
No bashing riders
No bashing announcers
No talk on riders families (wives, kids, cousins uncle)
Ban anyone that uses the word “literally” more than once.
I enjoy the forum but sometimes it seems like you have to sift through some junk to get to the good stuff.
I remember the bike thief thread where the gang of thugs did a smash and grab at a dealership and stole 9(?) bikes, all caught on video and I replied "needs more full auto".

I remember a many months old thread that I replied in that had died and gone away and then someone refreshed it.

I remember a bunch of people shitting on Mickey Dymond in a thread. I made a decent reply, set a few people straight and went off to donate a hundred bucks to Mickey. Got about 50 thumbs up for it.

It's a little obvious that someone's trigger finger is a touch too sensitive and twitchy when it comes to certain posters around here. Like others have posted in this thread, some of the shit that sticks and some that gets booted and clicked. But hey, not my house, not my rules and although Guy B wants us to report what we feel goes out of bounds, I'm not gonna be the snitch in a room full of grown men. My skin is thick enough to enjoy some good hearted banter even if it gets a little heated and a few punches thrown my way.
As far as you, Guy B, I'll always be the guy who stops to help you change a flat. I'll even buy you a beer and cook you a steak afterwards. But take you to the gun range with me.....eh', probably not gonna happen.
