Funny listening to Barcias interview with Mathes after the race.
From what Barcia said, he approached Eli unhappy about getting passed the way he did..
Really Bam Bam?? This is the same guy who took someone out on press day..
Eli’s response: “I could have hit you harder”

Barcia would do well with the fans if he’d just say something along the line of “I would have done the same” or “I would have cleaned me out if I was him” which is the truth. But instead he becomes a baby when someone races him similar to how he races others. I like you Barcia but please grow a pair when it’s dished back to you.

Who says he was unhappy? He may have been kind of laughing and said “You hit me pretty hard there!”

I did when buddies I raced with hit me at times. I bet Barcia wasn’t all that concerned or upset. He knows he was way worse himself.

No that isnt how he came off at all in the interviews i heard. He acted like tomac was being overly aggressive.

Tomac has more to lose than Barcia when it comes to getting into a little back and forth

It's what he does anytime someone actually gets in his face, throws his hands up and looks for an official.

I have become a fan of Barcia since he earned his factory spot back and he had seemed more mature since. But his antics are getting old. He'd do better if he focused more on the track instead of slamming the guy in front of him. All he accomplished Saturday was eliminating any chance he and Tomac had of getting to the front.

Barcia was not upset. He was cool with it, so stop twisting shit in your head. He laughed about it and knows Eli well.

so who is right and who is wrong in this thread? I would rather hear it from the riders than those who think they know or state it like its a fact.

It’s cute Barcia thinks he is even on the same page as Tomac.

Eli isn't messing around this year. Brayton obviously isn't messing around. Overall the riders are getting sick of the take-out passes. Eli knew Barcia would play rough and handled him with a confident pass.

Barcia beats around the bush with the truth, and I think Tomac will tell it like it is. Hope to hear something from Tomac at Tampa.

hopefully he just parks bam EVERYTIME he passes. maybe...just maybe he will get the point that when your trying to catch leaders...battling cat and mouse over 7th isn't the smart move.

I do like the urgency from Eli.. he used to get stuck behind riders in previous seasons, not this year!

This year is very similar to last. Barcia comes out swinging, going to be in the mix, has a few bad races, then reverts back to aggression, now fades away or crashes out the title fight and podium finishes.

Seems to me he just had a good race where he finished top 5 ran some great lap times and is still very relevant in the points. So he had a little dust up with 450 Jesus, bfd.

Precisely. I listened to multiple interviews of Barcia. Not sure how someone could believe he was butt hurt. He laughed and said I guess I know what it feels like to race my old me.

I think Eli just needs to keep the big picture in perspective. I agree with peelout, Tomac has way more to lose in all of this. Certainly don't want to let Barcia push you around, but also don't want to get into a bunch of cat and mouse when racing Barcia either and get slowed down. Eli will need to pick his lines when racing Barcia.

If you watch what started it, Barcia had more urgency in the section right after Eli came inside of him and then going into the turn before the finish Barcia was in front Tomac, but Eli kept it on. I don't have a problem with what Eli did, but had he carried more speed the corner before wouldn't have even had to worry about it.

I feel bad for anyone passing or battling with Barcia ,its almost as if he's throwing a tantrum while racing.

Barcia can’t complain. He needs to put rubber bumpers on his bike as much as he blocks everyone.

So true. He tries to win by being a douche and blocking or slowing them up. He just needs to be faster. He is on the first race of year then really struggles after that.

Barcia is good entertainment. It’s a show. Tomac trying force a pass causing them to roll the finish line and lose time seemed a little rushed and boneheaded. But I guess Barcia’s the villain so that doesn’t play into the popular narrative.

JT$ said it best on Pulp, and i'm paraphrasing here: "...gotta a problem with Barcia fighting (holding up) Eli when he's going backwards..."

JT$'s response/opinion is so milqtoast and predictable.

That was Barcia's fault that they weren't able to jump the finish. He knew Tomac had the inside and pass was a done deal unless he aggressively cut left to try and pinch Tomac off at the tough blocks on the inside of the turn before the finish, which he of course did. Tomac simply wasn't up for dealing with Barcia's shit so he parked him instead of conceding. I'm a fan of both. Not smart riding on Barcia's part as far as moving forward.
