I like to hear someone who knows WTF they are screaming about, can tell the difference between 46 and 64, and as others have said, doesn't interject OTT with pointless, irrelevant things.

Both guys are great broadcasters and I wonder if Ralph has SX as his second choice.
IMO. Will Christian is what make the show completely UNWATCHABLE!!
She needs to find fewer words. Her stupid rants start to hinder updates on the excitement of the race.

Never in my life have I watched a sport and liked or disliked what I watched due to the announcer. I just don't get the obsession.

How you can be a motohead, with the good racing we've had this year, and get so fixated on what someone is/is not saying?

Being a fan of Malcom , Ralph gave me some hope ( false hope ) even though I watched Eli stalk and finally pass Malcom , Ralph let me know that Malcom has been following Eli for a while and is pressuring him. He messed that up , but as people have said , calling a live event is not easy and Ralph does have a very enthusiastic voice. We now have a GOAT in the booth , but in my opinion which many will agree with , David Bailey is the GOAT of the booth. He would see stuff at full speed , that I had to slow mo my VCR to catch. Might have to pull out some old tapes just to listen to his announcing.

I can't imagine commentator X choosing to drop a bizarre bit of info like that about Lewis Hamilton whilst going through Eau Rouge 7th gear pinned and chasing Sebastian Vettel for the 3rd place.

That is what we get with Ralph and that is what the majority seems to "hate" (rightfully so in my opinion), not Ralph as a person. He seems like a good dude but he is average at best and doesn't get the best out of the experts that he works with (Fro years before and RC now).
Well, it could have come from Ralph himself or very well could have been the producer telling him to give a little fun fact. Neither of us knows because we aren’t a part of the production team.

Reading through this it is pretty obvious that many of the things Ralph gets blamed for are production decisions, not his. After listening to Ricky at Whiskey Throttle show, he has the ability to similarly give us much greater detail about the race. He’s either not given the opportunity or production decisions are limiting him.

Frankly, most of the complaints here are ultimately most likely production decisions. The broadcast seems aimed at the non-hardcore Moto fan. The participants on this board are not the target audience. (I have similar complaints about regular TV shows that involve my profession, the stuff that it is part of the plot is so out there that I just refuse to watch them.)

Personally I liked the flow of Diffey and RC better. But that’s my personal opinion. Ralph is fine too. I would like to see some of the non race related deviations omitted. Let’s get the producers to work on that.

I am totally bummed he's back. Never did like his style, from day one. The other guy was SO MUCH better. On that note anyone would be SO much better. I really cannot fathom how he held the position for so long, and am quite baffled as to why he's back.

huge downgrade from Diffy.

at one point in one of the mains, it was not even the second lap yet and he said "He's already up front putting down solid laps" or something like that. man, he's just terrible.

I missed Leigh as soon as Ralph said. he has facts for days, did you know camels raced instead of horses. right during action of a race.

I will admit the first couple heats of Round 1 I was like this guy is terrible and than after that he got comfortable and was really good

If Ralph would stop talking every time he begins to ask any question that begins with “Will he...........” he might be tolerable. Call the race that is happening. Stop the hypothetical hysteria.

Leigh's professionalism and ability to make RC better in the booth was amazing. With Ralph back, RC was flustered trying to come up with things to say instead of working off of pitches setup by Leigh.

Diffy's the better announcer, Ralph relies more on personality....both great on-air talents. but Diffy comes across as more knowledgeable, smoother. That said, I like Ralph just fine.....when Roczen was rolling over to the podium I asked my son;" How long till Ralph says it?" Ralphs very next word "STATEMENT"....

Ralph has always sucked at anything but NASCRAP. In the late 90s-early 00s I raced jet skis on the national tour, Ralph was the TV guy for a few years and he was even worse at that than he is SX. Even when Fro was there, I cant tell you how many times Emig (and now RC) would start to say something I REALLY wanted to hear and fucking Ralph will interrupt to add in some bullshit no one but Ralph wants to hear him say. People always say they want SX/MX to step up and become mainstream, the first step to do that is get a true professional like Diffy and send the carnival barker/circus clown Ralph back to NASCRAP.

No, because I'm not an idiot. I still don't think Ricky is the best choice, or anywhere near the top of the choices for that job, but he was multitudes better with Leigh than he is with Ralph.

I just watched bar to bar 2005 (again). We need those announcers. They announce the race instead of Blake Bagget having a child and enjoying the mornings and LIFE. Man, good for Blake that he has an (healthy) child. don't get me wrong. But I don't want to hear those things during a race. I want to know stats/facts. I want them to notice that Davalos was in 5th during the final main and things like that.

It's not that I totally hate Ralph, but most of the time he talks about things that don't make sense. Is that a production mistake or his mistake? If you watch bar to bar 2006, where Ralph started announcing, you see/hear that he actually calls the races
