The HRC team is looking for way different characteristics than the average Joe. I was watching KR’s suspension in the whoops, it’s hardly moves. The average Joe would never want to ride suspension like that.

You’re talking apples and oranges when comparing a race team set up to average joe.
Agree. Not the best comparison, but the point I was trying to make was if the AF is so rigid one would think even the race team would use different frame mounts with better flex.
They did do that with the 17 model that ended up being on the production bikes for the 18 model year.
I’m no pro by any means & own 18 & 20 models. Even though Honda changed the frame on the 19 to give it more rigidity towards the back half of the chassis I can’t really tell the difference. As you know there are other variables that come into play with suspension set up being crucial as one of the main factors.

100% agree.

Part of the package that comes with the Honda is knowing you will likely have to have a few setup scenarios ready for each track i.e. one setting will not rule them all

I think Honda will have a tunable mapping tool for their bikes ala Yamaha in 2021 (ok ok hoping so)

Jerry Robin has about 15 hours on a full stock clutch setup in SX on his practice bike right now. I put Hinson springs in and that’s all. Changed the plates yesterday and they were starting to go but not horrible. Bike just has exhaust, custom mapped Vortex and VP pro 6 though.

Earlier this summer I asked a tester (who will remain nameless) whether he thought Honda would offer a tunable mapping tool for the 2021 bikes. The guy I asked wouldn’t confirm or deny - but he said if it were him - he’d wait to buy a 2021 bike.

I actually heard it will be a true dual exhaust which will each have two mufflers for a total of four mufflers.

People shouldnt buy hondas. For their mental health. I can understand a street-bike, like a cbf, the new cb500f is an awesome bike. But in motocross, they just suck.

I prefer the feel of the cable clutch, as for the basket/plates, easy fix, I slap on a Hinson ...then again on this bike you do not HAVE to thrash the clutch, so I actually never had a major issue with the standard clutch, if you want to clutch the fuck out of it out of every corner (like for magazine photo shoots, etc) then yeah it wont last long... I only use a Hinson as used them for years, call it habit
Got pics of your 2020?

Should be a nearly all-new machine again. 2020 was year 4 of the cycle, which is what Honda usually sticks to. I’ve heard a few rumors of what could change but nothing super reliable. One such was possibility of single side exhaust...but once again, not sure on how true it would be.
Yep it is, single exhaust on the 450 atleast! Just seen it from gajser in sardinie, ☹

I 100% agree. Honda CBF's suck on a motocross track. The bike is actually dangerous over jumps.

MZ193 is a friggin genius.

I got 128 hours of deep pit sand ripping on my 19 CRF. Never even changed a clutch let alone opening the engine.

I have an 06 with 213 hrs, Has had a couple of JE pistons put in, ProX steel intakes at 70 hrs, still not have had to shim them, and just replaced the original clutch. I have been running a Rekluse EXP2 since 2012 though.

I feel like people need to add their riding skill after they make an hour meter statement about a bike. (Front, mid, back of pack A,B,C). I just don’t see some of the high hours people get out of stock clutches etc. unless they’re slow c riders.
