It looks like they've really improved the rythmn sections and the flow of the track. .and the suspension. I feel like the rider movements look quite a bit different than on the video with the guy at the compound doing backflips.
Is it just recycled POS? To you its obvious and I'm not here to change your mind, but I don't need another person to tell me the "truth", I think people can make their own option on what they want out of a game.
I thought MXGP pro was a total POS. I skipped that latest MXGP and SX2. I thought MXVSATV was total shit until they came out with the Lucas oil pro national tracks, had to try because i've rode Budds Creek many times, in first person mode, they killed it.
At first look it seems to me like the tracks are on point and actually pretty sharp on the faces of the jumps, if you case something you have to slow down to pick it up again but no ruts that work as usual in these games though.
I don't know how much progress that rider has but those scrubs are a little weird or slow maybe and i definitely don't like the start sequence with that suspense music, hope that can be turned off or something.
I am excited that the editor will have some updates.
I didn't see anything about rider "skills" at the moment.
The Good:
- The sharp jump faces really make a difference. There isn’t one pre-determined line like in the first two games. You can’t blitz rhythms like whoops, and if you case it actually matters now. Which brings me to my next point.
- Momentum and inertia seem to play a bigger role. The bike looks heavier and I think that makes it appear more realistic. At times the bike still does some weird looking things but overall it looks improved.
- Cornering looks great, love the improved ability to cut down.
- Whoops look bigger and more challenging, much improved from the glorified speed-bumps they had before.
- In-air physics look much better. Adding some weight to the bike while unlocking the controls a bit seemed to help in that regard. I saw that on numerous occasions the player was able to set up for the next section in the air, but in a much more real way than past games. You used to be able to totally change direction multiple times and it looked ridiculous.
The Bad:
- Rider posture and body movements still need work, especially the riders head and where he is looking.
- I still don't like the bike sounds, but it isn't a huge bother for me and some people actually seem to think they're pretty good.
- The whips still need a lot of work, but I won't really complain too much because I think as a whole, the in-air stuff is much better.
- Rider collisions are still woefully arcade-like. I want to be able to battle someone or even clean them out without knowing without a doubt that I'm going to wind up off track because of some odd "force-field" like physics around other riders. If I crash because I went in too hot, or landed on someone, or got landed on--that's fine, but leave the other (unrealistic) collision system for their arcade physics mode. The worst is when you land on someone but then end up riding above them for like 5 seconds.
Summary:
Overall, I like what I saw. This will be the first milestone game I’ll buy since SX1.
Pit Row
In all out for instance you could double out of a corner and then do double-triple after that. If you get a really good drive you could triple-triple-single, but here youre stuck to whatever rhythm the track designers wanted you to do.
The bikes are too slow for you to pick your own line, and thats where the issue is, all out is waaaay to fast and youre able to do 4-5-5 in rhythms, where milestone is at a much slower pace and you cant do anything about it.
If you had sx2 you would know
APerry151, I can't be more agree with you.
Honnestly I was really surprised, it feels way better than SX2 except for the scripted scrubs but I didn't used them a lot now that we have let say "decent" air physics.
However I picked up a PS4 just for MES2 really and different rhythms did exist on a lot of tracks.
