The stock Honda and Kawi grips are good too.
I run the OEM Yamaha ones as well. MXA always say they give them a sore thumb, I’ve never had a problem.
Agree, I use the OEM Honda grips 53165-KPT-305 and 53166-KPT-305 on all my bikes regardless of brand. These are not far off from OEM Kawasaki either

For me, best combo half waffle and compound, plus durable and inexpensive

The new Emig soft compounds for the win. Fight me.

Renthal Kevlar half waffle is my preferred.

I've tried many different grips on my bikes. ODI lock-ons are OK but can't run them on my Alta's (throttle tube), and they are quite hard. Also, they are tough to install and remove on the left side grip because of the gnurling. Renthal Kevlar half waffles are kind of "medium" in softness, last a long time, have good girth for my big hands, and look the best imo.

A'ME only. Made in the good ole' US of A and have many options: half, full, colors, clamp-on, heated, mtb, bmx, watersport, and more...

Does the waffle go on top to give you more grip or on the bottom to give your palms a break and provide grip for your fingertips? Also, on the throttle side, do you match that grip with the clutch side or align it at like 1/2 throttle or something? Always wondered about that.

ODI lock on half waffle here. Pro Tapers need a quick filing on the left side....makes install much easier.

I will never use conventional grips again. Safety wire on grips is more out of date than kick starters.

This is an excellent question. I typically run the waffle grid where my fingers will rest when holding the grip. Palms get the diamond/smooth side.

I like a big grip, so Tag Cradle medium compounds are for me. Unfortunately, they don't make them anymore. Sad

I guess I'm going back to Renthal Full Waffle soft and wrapping the handlebar with cloth tape first, like I used to do.

I tried these Tag grips once. Tons of grip for sure and on the softer side.

I ran ProTaper pillow tops for years but I recently changed to Renthal full diamond. I’m not a big fan of “bulky” feeling grips.

I've been running these since their release. I've got most of my supported riders using them as well. As an enthusiast, as well as a small town-Midwest based powersports dealership, I like to support the small business/local guy aspect of this industry whenever I can. I've run all of the other brands at some point in my 37 years of riding motorcycles, and I'm a big fan of these. Low cost, they come with grip wire supplied, and they're just an awesome 50/50 style grip. This company is clearly about the grass roots, weekend warrior, love your dirt bike mentality of this sport that made most of us fall in love with it in the first place. I feel like I'm putting my money back into something great by going this route...but that's just me.

Renthal Full Diamond Soft

I use to use half waffle or Pillow Top grips and would get really bad arm pump and lose grip quickly. I have really small hands... These babies saved my life! They help out a lot since they are so thin. They wear out pretty fast but they are so cheap it doesn't really matter.

Generally I don't care what grips are on the bike, they're grips, no need to over think it...it doesn't really matter.

I generally buy based on durability...and for durability purposes: Renthal Kevlar full waffle or Scott full waffle. I've had great luck with the A'me grips as well.

Only grip I can say that I don't care for all that much are the Pro Taper Pillow tops...just no feeling on those things, and if they ever get wet they get slippery...so I always find myself gripping the bars too tight. But I'll run those without any complaints either.

Renthal Ultra Tacky / tapered. The compound gets tackier as it gets wet, not the most durable but the grippiest IMO!

Rocky Mountain. I haven’t bought them in over a year (been on Scott’s since then) maybe they don’t sell them any more?

Has anyone here tried out the Mika thin grips? I got a free set in a gift bag from a Honda dealership and was going to try them out in a build I am wrapping up.

I've just gone to these also. They are very good.

They are not as big feeling as regular pillow top.

My man! These grips right here are my jam. I buy a few sets at a time normally because they can be hard to find.
