Why do you think Kawasaki do not want to go?

Scared, no confidence, bad promo for the brand losing, no hope... take your pick

What holds more weight and has propelled the rider further in their career:

Max Anstie’s 1-1 day at the GB MXDN

Or

Zac Osborne’s double championship season?

I think that explains Kawasaki’s priorities.

Idk....both still have rides and are relevant in their respective series. You could argue about who is doing better but I'd guess they are both putting eats on the table and enjoying life. For some folks, "he that dies with the fattest bank account is still dead".

Cooper has the raw speed to get it done, just needs the determination of Carmichael.

A dialed in Tomac was USA’s only hope for a respectable result at Assen. All of the other possible riders will get waxed at the sand track. It’s not that big of a deal the composition of Team USA because MXdN will be the same fantastic spectacle of the sport that it always is.

Have you seen the number of GP riders out for the year? Theres only 10 or so really good riders out there now. Split them up for the MXdN since it’s country vs country (not GP vs AMA) and we could still do great.

Absolutely. Good observation. Whoever we send has a good chance.

I told everyone AC wasn't going weeks ago but nobody wanted to listen, there is a person at Kawi that doesn't like the MXDN and as long as he's in charge it is doubtful that any Kawi riders will go.
Also the team is as I stated in another thread...
Justin Cooper, Zacko and Anderson...unless something unforeseen happens...

Sorry if I missed this somewhere. Do you know the reason to why they wouldnt choose Webb who is infront of Zacho and Anderson in points?
To be fair, Osborne missed a round which is why he’s behind in points. He was a little better than Webb prior to that.

Respect your opinion but don’t agree. I know the GP ranks are thinned with injury this year while the AMA Nationals have not been hit as much as normal. In my opinion the GP midpackers will smoke our team in Assen. That’s simply the overwhelming trend that makes good sense to double down on.

If USA doesn’t win then I hope France does while beating the sh*t out of England and their obnoxious fans. That I predict as well.

Will the trend of US not sending it's best eventually kill the MXdN? Not taking anything away from the guys picked to go this year, but we're sending a "charity" team. We either send our best or we don't go IMO. This is a pride race and will sound nationalistic, but without the US it's a glorified MXGP race.

The hype of MXdN has always been built on USA vs. GP and always will be. The allure and attraction this prestigious race brings is broken without the best from both sides of the pond.

In the end this is all due to MEC. A gimmick race held in a college football stadium in Las Vegas. It's about green, bling, graphics, skanky tits and ass and pool parties at the hotel.

Don't get me wrong I love some T&A, but this is some bullshit. I want to see Eli and AC handle some f'ing business overseas!!

Zacho, Anderson and Webb would be great. They would fight hard. All three have "un-finished business" in the MXoN and seem to care greatly about getting it done. Come on Zacko ride the 250!

Putting Canard on the team would be fun.

Oh come on, wouldn't you rather see AC pull over for ET to win the MEC million? Laughing (for you mouth breathers, sarcasm)

I remember conversations about why manufacturers/sponsors don't put MXON in the contract when riders started opting out. Now it's the manufacturers/sponsors who don't want to go.

I feel quite sad that this is where we've ended up.

The fact that MEC is included in contracts and MXdN isn’t should give you a pretty good indication of what the factories think about it in comparison to what we already have for racing in the US

What was the biggest and most memorable accomplishment of your career ?
Motocross des Nations, said Jeff Ward and nearly every other racer.

That says how important this race really is to fans and riders, especially when you consider it's at the end of a long season, many teams travel oversees, and nobody gets paid.

Times change, this isnt 30-40 years ago. How come no one is giving ferrandis musquin, kroc shit for not going? No excuses there either. They can go, put their feelings aside for their country

Dylan and Marvin couldn’t make the French team. Ken could make the German team but been away from the GP sand tracks too long

Wouldn’t you think that as a rider, (especially a heavy hitter) with some clout you’d have this written into your contract? If I’m a top three 450/250 guy I would think that I would have a clause saying that if picked to represent my country I would do so pending my own discretion? No?

Who knows who is really pushing to go or who is pushing back? Rider? Team?

I haven’t read all the comments but I just think that this would all be sorted at contract time, If the rider is healthy and willing, nothing should hold him back.

This situation is very familiar with the Suzuka 8 Hour race in Japan. Years ago the factories would get all their top GP riders to go, it was put into their contracts. Nowadays it’s NOT put in, the factories don’t want their top stars to go. Can you imagine the 8 Hours with Marquez, Lorenzo, Rossi etc.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don’t mention the results as I’m still working my way through the race, 2 hours in so far.

I for one am a big fan of AC and would love to see him race mxon I think no matter how good our guys do the sport needs our USA riders there and AC has been ripping this year ...

For me it’s not right that AC is not going, he wants to so why not?

What is the big expense? I cannot understand a big team going, why can it not just be rider and mechanic? Go a week before, spend some time getting bike set up and then it’s go time.

Although it’s at Assen remember not all GP are great sand riders!!! TG243 likes to crash, Febre is moving to new team and we could go on. Which teams have 3 good riders? IF JH84 is back he will win but how about the rest of the team?

USA have a very good chance this year and I would have liked to see Eli, Jason & Adam. This team DOES have real possibilities of winning and imagine the bragging rights of winning on sand.

Put up or shut up. Easy to question why they don’t want to pay when it’s not your money

Team USA will do fine. They've just had a bad run!

They've got such a talent pool to draw from, unlike most Euro countries.

I wouldn't be surprised to see them land the Podium or with a bit of luck, win at Assen!

I'm absolutely gutted that AC and Tomac aren't going to be there. It's a crying shame. Trying to see it from Kawasaki's perspective, they've let the SX title slip from their grasp 3 years in a row now. Tomac said on the Whiskey Throttle Show that he left Honda for Kawi because they were proven winners and that all he wants now is an SX title. Villo got 4 straight SX titles with Kawi, Tomac still has zero. I can understand why they'd want to build a super strong team to secure that title.

I'm betting Kawi isn't too thrilled AC got on a podcast and threw them under the bus. I'd imagine this could impact sales a little on the mx bike side. Us American's are very passionate about the MXoN and a brand flat telling one our best riders "we won't support you" can't look to good.
It will have zero effect on bike sales. And if people have any kind of understanding, they will get how both Kawi and Adam thinks.

Both Kawi and Adam has millions of USD on the line for 2020, or if you want even for monster energy cup. First year on a 450 and Adam has had his share of injuries during his career. He needs all the time he can get to do testing and racing. Monster energy cup is the first real test of his factory bike in racing conditions.

I think it is the absolute right decision to not go.He would also make little to no difference for the teams success given the type of track it is.
