Hope he is OK.
These types of dudes always confuse me in moto. It seems weird when the ratio of willingness to go for it and skill is so far off.

Like usually skill dictates your ability and hence a self limiter is sort of there. Sure you get of whack, but you don’t usually crash every jump or just buck shit and see what happens. Then there are a few who are just like what’s this a bike, flat out you say? Sweet!

One of my mtb buddies is like that. Show him a corner and he grabs the brakes and freaks. Put a dodgy double in front of him and he will boner air to case then long all day.

What an idiot. That kind of BS doesn't belong on a public track. Go to the dunes if you want to play Seth.

If I ran a public track, and goons were ripping across the infields to link obstacles that weren't attempted to be - they would be thrown the fuck out.

It's one thing when guys with the skill of Josh Hill try it, but when we keep fellating that kind of behavior it leads to Larry Loopout trying it like we see here.

Go kill yourself on your own property.

You'd think he would be embarrassed, not proud to put it on social media. There are fools everywhere and always have been. We have too many protections in place for people now. Not enough thinning of the herd. Hopefully he doesn't hurt anyone else and taxpayers don't end up paying for his support when he breaks his neck after repeated attempts at stupid. As a track owner, I would ask him to not come back until he get the connection between risk and skill. Sport is dangerous enough without people making obvious bad decisions.

It don't even look like the take off has enough lift to get you that far.

Was quite evident he didn’t have the speed before the launch, he should have known, but he had painted forks so maybe not.

Can't speak for anyone else but it only took one incident like that for me to understand where my skill ran out and beyond that lay stoopid. Hope this kid learned that, too. Hate seeing anyone get hurt.

Yikes. Doing jumps like that are a sketchy deal even when you have a boat load of talent. Looks like a c-class rider trying to be Axel Hodges.

One look at his Instagram and you'll know that he doesn't learn. Hell, he even said he knew he was going to be short before hitting the takeoff.

Stupid is as stupid does.

Wow looking at his other IG videos this guy is a complete goon. No control over the bike in the air or on the ground whatsoever.
There's nothing you can do to avoid having riders like this get injured. Not the track's fault.

I am surprised he didn't break both femurs, that was really bad... In all cases, get well soon !

It was a hard case, but the front wheel "should" have hold up. It would have been a pro and the wheel had exploded like that, we would be shocked, as we see each year some nasty cases sometimes. I am quite curious about the front wheel condition and maintenance before the crash. A new sentence here could be "always tighten your spokes" Wink

Anyway not a good idea to build huge jumps because there is always the temptation to pass it, weither you really have the skill or not. Or maybe some jumps should be "pro only", to make sure the track is fully covered.

Everyone has the choice of deciding whether jumps are beyond their skill level or not. Finding out the hard way is the best teacher. We don't need tracks dictating what people should and shouldn't be trying. Unless a jump has a landing that is peaked with no forgiveness on the landing, I don't see an issue. He thought he could do it, and he came up short. He knows now what to do better next time.

Stupid is as stupid does.
I don't understand how someone can ride dirtbikes fairly often, do big jumps like that all the time (even if they're sketchy), and not show any progress. Like they're forever stuck on level 1, no upgrade available.

If this is being attempted by coming from way off the track then it's reckless and the track operator should put a stop to it.
Wrong....have you ever had trouble clearing a jump out of a corner, so you cut the track to make the jump and then later on were able to make it out of the corner? Sorry, you can't do that anymore, complete laps only.

Lol “pala must do something”, give me a break dude not all of us want a nani holding ours hands through life. We’ve already got the government regulating the living hell out of everything, the last thing anyone needs is more rules riding your dirtbike.

Dude went for it on an 06 crf450, much respect for that send!
i have a 2007 crf 450 (basically same bike) and it absolutely rips.

Yup. All it takes is that A-hole lawyer to get ahold of him and say, “hey we can go after them for a big chunk of money for not changing this after others have done it. It’s not your fault you got hurt.”
