How bad would he have beaten everyone? Don't think he would've gotten nearly as tired as all the current 450 guys in that heat.

It wouldn't have been the heat as much as the layout and dirt. He would demolished everyone, just like he did back then.

Or the Honda 450. I don't think it matters either way.

Congrats JT$, you finally posted something worth quoting....Just a little Canadian humour for you. I agree, 100% that RC would have smashed everyone-in fact it would have been fun to watch Stewart and RC in their prime just take off and demolish the field, like they did at Southwick. A few of those motos were RIDIC. Pinned everywhere. I remember thinking that these two were actually riding a 450 to its limits. How many guys can say that?

If I had to guess I’d say he would go 1-1 like he did most of his career.

Oh I think that's almost a given. I think he would win by a large margin, especially in the 2nd moto. Probably 20-30 second gap each moto.

But... what if I had started riding at an earlier age and dedicated myself to the sport, becoming one of the greatest ever? How would I have done on a 96 CR125? Or what if Steven Seagall was as into moto as he was into martial arts? Oh, the scenarios!

Imagine if James and Reed were racing, James would've probably holeshot, pulled over for some powdered donuts and let Reed by and then passed him back for the win

It all depends on if he was on a new 2020 RMZ 450 or on his 2006 RMZ 45...………… wait, nevermind, same bike.

I know the last time He was at Glen Helen on his Honda 250 , He was hammering the track so hard at the end of the moto , they had some gnarly sand whoops and the track was super rough, He was leading by 20 plus seconds and just hammering like someone was chasing him.

Just insane effort and fitness.

Stewart and Ricky 07' would probably have been fun to watch on that track. Two Florida boys in Florida in their prime.

You would have had a great amateur run, then a big crash in your first pro year would have ended it, but you would still have been a "top 20 guy"

6-4 for 5th overall. I got him doing a bit better in 2nd moto coz he would of wore some guys down but the lead trio would of smoked him in opening 20 minutes.
You guys are welcome to have your opinion but I deal with the facts xoxo

I think it's hard to say. Yes RC was awesome, but lets face it after Windham, Reed, and Stewart the rest of the guys don't compare to the top 5 now. I think the top 10 now is hands down faster than the top 10 in say 2005.

I really don't know if RC would dominate Tomac, Musquin, or Roczen, but I'm fairly certainly he wouldn't go 24-0 in this day and age.

RC would of smoked all as usual especially in those conditions. Doesn't matter what generation hero showed, RC had you beat.

You must be fucking joking. Did you ever see RC run at a national in person? That guy always had another gear. He was ridiculous fast in downhills and rough tracks that would make most people shit just attempting to even ride on. When he paced at the end of a moto with a 30 second gap he was faster than 99% of the people who ever raced.

This is correct, anybody saying different isn't factoring in RC adapting to today's bikes and riding style and being in his prime which was 10 straight outdoor national championships. He would have mentally killed these guys today especially Eli.

And let's not forget, RC was also one of the best starters ever. He was always pulling holeshots especially outdoors. He would have a 15 second gap on Eli before Tomac made it into 2nd place.

RC4 probably could have lapped the whole field at WW Ranch in his prime.

I love Eli and always want him to win but you would have never seen RC4 running around in 7th place when he did not even fall down. Heck, you would not have seen RV2 or RD5 doing that either. That is why Eli is not at their level. Tomac is great but not all-time great like them.

You also can't be one of the all-time greats if you don't know how to get good starts on a consistent basis. I would say he still has time but he should be solid in that area by now. Do you ever look to see how far back he often is at the end of the first lap? Crazy.

That he did...
BUT James and Chad both spent 5 minutes of that moto trying to pull their bikes out of a fender-deep rut on a slimy hillside. So it's not like RC just flat out ran them all down on blazing speed.
