What race was it where the camera was on someone else and most people were going 1-2 out of a tight corner and Seely takes the corner deep and blasts all three like a maniac? It was late in the race too. It's easy to see how talented he is, but sometimes you get that little glimpse into the depth of it.

This season has been brutal.

I cannot think of another sport where there are so many injuries (proportional to the number of pro athletes) that take people out for a whole season (or half a season in some cases)

-Seely
-Peick
-Dean
-Bloss (returning)
-Jordan Smith
-McElrath
-Covington
-JMart
-Hill
-AP
-Cantrell
-Falk
-Forkner

I'm Bummed. Cole is my son's favorite rider, he was looking forward to seeing Cole in the pits tomorrow.
Heal up and come back stronger Cole.

Deathcross strikes again! Oh wait...

Man, what a bummer. I’m afraid this might have been the straw that broke the camel’s back as far as Cole wanting to continue racing professionally. I know he has said he had contemplated it after his last injury, now another injury that’s going to require a surgery. Get well soon! I hope to see him out there again but respect whatever choice he makes.

I’m bummed Seely is my favorite guy and was hoping for a better outdoor season. Glad we tied a few heat wins off in supercross.

I’d love to see Lamay under the factory tent though

Sad to see Seely finish his time with HRC in this fashion... JS17 will be taking over that spot for 2020.

Get well soon Cole, heal up!

Need to bring in Noren since he already has worked out of the truck before and in running as a privateer.

I can't remember where I saw it, but one mx news site posted last week Seely was retiring after MX and Joey was taking his spot at HRC for '20.

Off the top of my head (I'm probably forgetting a few), here is the breakdown of the number of factory riders and the number currently injured

450 rides
Monster Kawi: 2 spots, 1 out (Savatgy)
HRC Honda:2 spots, 1 out (Seely)
Red Bull KTM: 2 spots, none out
Rockstar Husky: 3 spots, 1 out (Dean)
Monster Yamaha: 2 spots, 1 out (AP) --- not counting Ferris (will he be around all year?)
BTO KTM: 3 spots if you include Bogle (which I am since it looks like he will be there all summer), none currently out since Bloss is back for High Point
JGR Suzuki: 1 spot? - 1 out (Hill)

That is 5/14, or 36% of factory riders out

250 rides
TLD KTM 4 spots, 4 out (Falk, Cantrell, Smith, McElrath)
Rockstar Husky - I forget... 3 spots? - 1 out that I can think of (Covington)
Monster Kawi: 4 spots, 1 out (Forkner)
Geico Honda: 4-5 spots, 1 out (JMart)
Monster Yamaha: 4 spots, none out I think
JGR Suzuki: 2 spots, none out I think

That is 6/22, or 27% of factory riders out

They’d be stupid as shit to get ride of Cole. You’ve currently got two extremely likable and well received guys on the team that get along well and know how to keep things fun, plus one is a legit championship contender and the other is a very solid #2 rider that turns in respectable results. Not to mention both have come back from horrible injuries and have shown a hell of a commitment as well.

Totally crap luck for Seely, he really needed to get through this season healthy to rebuild his confidence and physical ability after his horrendous 2018 injuries.

As for fill-ins either Noren or Lamay would be suitable, I hope HRC gives one of them a bump.

EDIT: Also why not give Jake Masterpool a shot?
