Not trying to be intrusive, but respectfully was wondering if anyone have an update? Fingers crossed both guys are stable and recovering as best as they can already.
Although I didn't see it, I was there and saw the aftermath, and both guys looked pretty bad. If anyone has a link to a gofundme or something, I'll happily contribute.

I'm sorry but I don't know much more than that and I'm afraid I don't know about the
rider that was injured.
Apparently Rudy was well off the track in an area anyone would have thought to be safe
and it was one of those freak deals.
Rudy is a truly soul guy that lives, eats and breathes motorcycles. Hope he, and the rider, gets through it.

Always a nice guy willing to help anyone out at the track.
Update: his spleen was ruptured. His blood pressure dropped to critical levels. Doctors removed his spleen. On breathing machine now and will be for the night. MRI and xrays now. No clue yet about his head injury. He had a huge knot on the back of his head too. His left arm is missing skin from elbow to lower forearm.
The medical staff asked that visitation and phone calls be limited to family at this time since Rudy is under sedation ... maybe for the next few days. Besides the injuries already mentioned, he also suffered kidney injury, a small brain injury to the front of his head, and an artery injury on the side of his neck.
Monday afternoon update: Rudy is responsive to family! His blood pressure is a little low but it increases when his family talks to him. That is awesome news!!!!
The staff and family still asks for no visitors… Maybe in a few days or next week. He still has the breathing tube. It decreases the stress on his chest. He has several broken ribs as well.

Still no word on the other rider.
I hope he recovers fully and will be ok.
With the speed and momentum these guys carry these days I'm surprised it does not happen more often.
Hoping the other guys is ok as well.

Pit Row
He was standing near the track with his screwdriver in hand checking out suspension when a rider came up short on the top of a jump crashing and sending a bike hurdling into him.
Rudy was taken by ambulance a short distance then by helicopter to Sharp Hospital where he was rushed into emergency surgery to save his life. Rudy's spleen was removed and he suffered injuries to his kidneys, a brain injury, severe arm injury, and damage to an artery on the side of his neck. (possibly more)
i also heard from someone that was there that the dude whisky'd over a berm after shorting a jump....
good to see the gofundme getting action. Rudy is one of those guys that you always see helping other people out...
Rudy is slowly slowly doing better. He has the neck collar off but get this ... he has 18 broken ribs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
10 on one side and 8 on the other.
If you haven’t seen it yet, there is a gofundme created to pay shop expenses while he recovers.
Please Keep those donations going, spread the word, even if all you can do is $10 or $20, it all adds up! and just as importantly it shows how great this MX community is , coming together to give back to a guy that has spent many years helping others. Just read the comments on the Go Fund Me page and you will see what I mean.
I'm guessing it will be quite awhile before he is able to get back to work, but when he sees the $$ raised, and all the comments, it will be a great mental and emotional boost for him and his recovery.
Rudy is a "real racer", and one of the truly "Good Guys"!

From Pro Prept FB page:
Finally heard about the other guy ... this is unofficial and I won’t name the name without permission. The other guy is also still at Sharp Memorial Hospital. He is messed up as well. I heard internal bleeding, spleen ruptured and removed, broken legs and his spine was separated from his pelvis. I was told on scene there was some serious head injury.
I hadn’t thought to post any updates here but thanks to Casper for copying the info from Facebook. Here are some other details that has not been shared here.
Rudy was being the Rudy we all know ... adjusting clients’ suspension. He had his screwdriver in hand and watching as we were on the track. He was standing just outside of the left 180 after the finish line jump. The rider and Rudy were both life flighted to Sharp Memorial. It was tough to hear the on-scene medics trying to decide which one would be flown first. They loaded Rudy up in an ambulance and took him to the Barona casino parking lot where he was flown from. The first helicopter landed on the track and took the rider.
The go fund me for Rudy was set up by his friend and bookkeeper and was approved by the family. 100% are the received donations will be going directly into Rudy‘s bank account. He has insurance but these donations will help pay the bills for his shop. I’m guessing he will be out of worked for a while.
I have not talked to the family of the rider, so I’m reluctant to share his name, but I heard he rides at Barona often. So many people know Rudy but the other guy needs our thoughts, hopes, prayers, and good luck too.
