David Bailey.
Looking at all he has accomplished after being permanantly paralyzed from the waist down, it's pretty damn amazing.

How is RV not mentioned? Destroys his leg and comes back to win 4 supercross titles in a row.

Henry or Pourcels, both equally devistating injuries and both came back to win titles.

Greg Albertyn. If my memory serves me correctly, he broke his femur early in SX and came back the same year and won the national series. Please correct me if I am wrong.

1) Roczen
2) Villopoto
3) Pastrana

I’m saying these are the best for what they actually accomplished after their injury’s

pourcel had the most severe injury and struggled to be back again. he won 2 titles and almost won another 2 so its a great comeback. his attitude stoped him from winning more.
on the other gand everts was considered semi retired at the start of 00's. in 97 as reigning champion he collapsed and lost the title to tortelli in the last race in my country greece. at 98 and 99 he broke his knee at the beggining of the seasons. in 2000 he signed with husqvarna to ride an all new and and not so reliable 4 stroke. this time he broke his arm. and then he signed to yamaha and won 6 straight titles!
It was not only his "attitude" that kept him away from winning another championship. He had problems with his body after the injury. He could not train the way he wanted to and had major stomach pain and even problem eating. Pourcel is not a person that speaks loudly about his problems but they were there. Also the mental "problem" after such an injury. Thats why he would not go fast in the races when the track got gnarly and dangerous. He just didnt feel safe. When he felt safe, he still was the fastest guy on the track.

But Pourcel is on the top of the list of comebacks. Man he was in such a bad place... also got addicted to very strong painmeds and as i recall, had to be in rehab for that.

...if Hunter Lawrence can ride again, I think I might vote for him for best come back after a injury. That foot peg to the butt looked pretty painful. Just saying.

youre right but despite all pourcel was a tough character to get with before and after the accident. either way he lost 2 titles that were his until the last race. im sure herlings will be on this list just like stewart coming back from injuries and won at first try!

I’ve never seen anyone like Pourcel. People rave about James, and rightly so. But watching CP, looking like he’s on a sighting lap, blow by a great like Dungey ..... just amazing. Can’t think of a more gifted rider.

The Hurricane would be right in the mix. He destroyed his leg and came to win many races.

Tomac's double shoulder injury can't be ignored. He came back to basically be the country's #1 rider and win multiple championships in very short time.

woudnt Canard being landed on be worth mentioning? Until Roczen i feel it was the most current return from major injury.
5/22/2019 12:52pm
I agree with Doug Henry, but Trey Canard has to be mentioned with the string of injuries he had back to back and being able to come back better than ever each and every time he got injured.

Canard never came back to win championships...I am a huge fan of Trey but he does note rate against Henry's return...
