Dude is very financially set. I'm sure he wants to win a 450 SX championship but it just wasn't his year. If he carries this momentum into the outdoors, his competition should be concerned once again. Guy is a beast.

What a load of crap. I’m a Tomac fan and I’m not making excuses. He lost to Webb, and that’s it. He’ll try again in 2020. People sure don’t shit on Roczen or Marvin like they do Eli, and they are expected to win as well.

Yeah Tomac came up short of the 450 sx title again, but he had a lot of wins and a good season. Especially for starting with a back injury. With the 250 sx and outdoor titles, back to back 450 outdoor titles, MEC million dollar win, 27 450 sx main event wins, and other successes, he's a badass no matter how you look at it. He's also rich. If your favorite rider is Roczen, Webb, or one of the others, that's cool but only an idiot would talk shit about Tomac or hate the guy. That's childish. It's amazing how much of that is.out there. The same mentality that makes someone boo Dylan Ferrandis. That shit embarrasses me as an American.

Not sure why all the excuses for. He had a great season. He actually managed this championship better than any other he’s ever had in SX on the 450. He beat everyone on his radar. Just so happens a guy on nobody’s radar came through and beat everyone. No shame in that.

The last person Eli lapped was Justin Bogle, who finished 10th. His speed is impressive, but Cooper coming back to win the title was more impressive.

Tomac has more wins than anyone on the gate, thats what makes it so much worse. He can’t seem to figure out how to not loose the title. He has given it away 3 years running and this season Webb had more wins than Tomac, so for someone to say Tomac was faster this season doesn’t really hold water.

Webb has exactly 7 wins to Tomac’s 27, yet Webb has a title and Tomac has 0.

So yes you can insult me if you want to, I really don’t care. I don’t know you and you don’t know me. I did not insult you personally. I made a general statement drawn from what I read from posts on Vital.

You're labeling all Tomac fans as "if" people. That's b.s. I'm a Webb fan more so than a Tomac fan, but just like most Tomac fans, I can say that the dude had a great season, won a lot of races, and made it extra exciting. Webb was just more consistent and executed better when it mattered. Tomac has more raw speed but also had more mistakes and less consistency. I would say THAT is the way more people see it and that includes most Tomac fans as well. Not excuse making "if" people. The "if" people are the minority. No, I don't know you and maybe I shouldn't have attacked you, but at the same time you don't know all Tomac fans and shouldn't call them all "if" people. There's "if" fans of every rider.

Cracks me up how a lot of people are saying it's cause he had to adapt to a new bike. What about Webb, a whole different manufacturer. You don't think it's a bit different than a Yamaha? Also, a ton of people saying Eli was the fastest all year. Nope. Webb won 7 races to Eli's 6. I 'd wager to say that Webb could have won a couple more if he didn't have to think of the championship. How are you not the fastest when you've won more races?

I also think some of the Webb negativity comes from the fact that he's on a KTM. I posted something on my 1972 Penton being way more competitive than a Honda SL125 of the same year and got a ton of down votes. Seems to be a lot of jealous Jap bike owners. How can you not agree that a 72 Penton was a better MX or enduro weapon than a 125 SL Honda.

Are you trying to live through another man's success, Tomac was defeated mentally at the start of that season and when he had nothing to lose he caught dungey and the one race he needed to show up at he bombed.

He's the fastest man there's no denying that at all, but you saying its all the bike is full of shit yet it's all mental for him always has been he's proven that more than once and proved it again this year.

Many years JS7 was the fastest guy out there but did not win the championship or the most races. Webb was for sure much more consistent that Tomac. Sometimes the guy going the fastest makes more mistakes and does not win.

Webb is awesome and totally earned it. He was the best this year for sure. Outdoors, if Eli limits the big mistakes his speed should take him to another title. If.

If Eli comes in healthy for the 2020 sx season...based on what you know now, would you bet against him? I wouldn't. People go the nationals to see one guy put on that late race charge...Eli Tomac. People watch SX to see what Eli will do. Eli is THE ONLY MX and a SX true superstar right now. Nobody else is even close. If he ever believes how good he is...god help the competition.

How are you not the fastest when you've won more races? Eli led more laps than Webb did on the season - but that doesn't make him faster. Webb had 1 more win on the season - but that doesn't make him faster either. Having the most race points at the end of the season makes you faster. Eli led 100 laps, Webb only led 84 laps. Eli 6 wins, Webb 7 wins. Its not rocket science - Webb's bad nights weren't as bad as Eli's bad nights. That's what took the championship home to Webb. It wasn't about wins or most laps led - or who was fastest. One word: Consistency

Sure, you could argue that Webb could have won more races had he not been managing the championship. One could also argue that had he pushed the envelope a little hard in trying to win those races, he might have crashed out and either got hurt or had a really bad night losing more points.

Consistency wins championships. Dungey wrote the book on it. Webb won the championship because he was the most consistently fast rider on the season.
