I'm a 2-stroke guy, but have always found this bike particularly striking:

Love the look of those late 70's yellow YZ with the aluminum swingarms. Loved the white and red bikes, until they came to the US. Then they didn't seem so exotic.

Thanks for another great post!

Your two girls names are Hannah and Bailey? That is indescribably awesome!

Back to topic; The best looking Yamaha MX bike is the 1988 YZ 250.

HL500. The run-of the mill TTs are considerably less sexy looking. And I believe these were Swedish

Good catch. Is that a Hallman frame?

Simons on the front, Ohlins on the back ?

And yeah they were Swedish with Aberg riding them in the GPs, but the concept is decidedly British in nature

Number one best looking YZ ever was the 1976 YZ125 C and X. Sleek and slim, such a great looking machine. Monoshock was new and “shockingly” attractive. Chassis carried over to the 77 YZ100 which looked as good with the 77 graphics.

Didn't die off so much as was killed off. Two of the OEM's at the time did not want to play anymore. A production power valved alum frame YZM 500 would have been interesting. The factory bike had real merit.

Maybe we've just grown tired of looking at it's basic lines for too long, but the 1993 80 prob needs a mention:

Its cool that they made it, obviously a technological marvel... but in terms of styling, that thing looks like a Soviet tractor.

The '89 250 modeled after it is much cleaner

I could be wrong, but the upper tubes look like the standard 05 tubes but coated.

The absolute, best looking YZ125 ever.
