Who cares about a silly comment, I thought it was funny, far more interested in Justin and Colt in the booth replacing Ralph and Ricky.

Just to be clear, I'm not trying to rip on GuyB or anything. Overall I think he does as good of a job as anyone in the "industry" could. But the insults of the people who probably create so much traffic (traffic = income) always seems a bit odd to me.

It's one thing to do that to a specific person who is getting sideways, but another to do it to a large, unnamed group like in the Baggett question setup.

I am responding to because you’ve been here a long time and I would think won’t take offense to stuff i’m saying here.

There are a lot of “vitards” that come off as completely sideways and out of line with their posts within the racing community. However, there are many here that aren’t considered “vitards”. It’s kinda like immigration, the illegals ruin the perception for everyone. If riders or even GUYB called out specific posters could you imagine? There would be a mad dash in here to be an asshole just to get a mention from a rider.

The problem is, if you try to correct someone on here with reality and fact then you are usually labeled as a industry kiss ass or a know it all asshole. Years ago this place was full of industry and even riders posting. They have been ran off. Remember DV12? I remember him getting called an idiot, a know it all.

One thing I have noticed is if you make a generalization about the place without calling specific people out in a post or in an interview a lot of people that shouldn’t, get offended. Much like this thread.

Anyways, I think a lot of the people posting about this aren’t the ones GuyB and Blake are talking about.

I went away for a while, used to post a lot back in the day, I can tell you there are a lot of fresh people here that just seem angry and need a couch to lay on while spouting off their complaints and none sense.
And I’ll respond to this knowing that you have been here a long time and won’t take offense. You are basically saying that the “industry insiders” are a bunch of thin skins who can’t hang out in public. I’ll bet if Guy B polled the “industry” and compared it to the Vitard poll they run here every year it would be an interesting comparison. I’ll bet the vitards own more bikes and buy more moto related stuff.

No, that’s not what I’m saying. Not at all. This is exactly what I’m talking about. It isn’t the “industry insiders” vs. “outsiders”. Not at all. It shouldn’t be anyways. But for some reason it has always appeared To be this “insider” vs. “non insider” dilemma.

I’m sorry it came across that way if that’s how you took my post. I have respect from all until I’m disrespected, as many are. In here, I believe we are all here for the love of the sport. Of course there will be disagreements in opinions.

I have the utmost respect for you Newman, not just for your posting but for the things you have done that most don’t know of in here. (Jimmy Button help to name one)

Anyways, yes... there are thin skinned industry people but there are also no nothing assholes who get brave on the keyboard. it defnetely goes both ways.

Just because you spend money in the industry and support the sport doesn’t give you a hall pass post nonesense does it?

Nope, no hall pass expected here but there are assclowns on both sides of the aisle.

You, Buttonfly and DV have all been able to stand your ground and slap back when needed. No safe space website needed for you guys. Much respect here.

Also - just to note.....

I did work in the industry for years in which we sold products to the very people that post here.

I have been personally asked to not continue in certain discussions or “arguments” because of my affiliation with my employer. It didn’t mean I was wrong in my posts, but it wasn’t worth the risk of a guy getting pissed at me and then having a beef with the product I represented.

So, sometimes the industry doesn’t walk away and stop posting because they are thin skinned. It’s because they represent companies and don’t want to hurt their brand in what’s supposed to be a bench racing scenario.

Customers and market share are hard to come by!

I Just watched that video for the first time in this thread
And i didnt take what GuyB said as a bad thing , i guess its just perception?
He literally just said some of our experts.
If he had said some some vitards that i could see as being insulting.
But there really are people that come on Vital that are experts, some as expert or pro riders, some as people that work in the industry and some people that may not work in the industry or Ride anymore, but have followed the sport for many years, How many years does someone have to be a fan of the sport to he considered expert level and worthy of having an opinion on things?
Ive personally Followed the sport closely for 30 years
Been on This forum and others for many years, read all the magazines and have for 30 years. And go to all websites listen to podcasts, and i would consider myself up to date on Current events but also in the know enough to have a conversation about anything involving the sport and any rider currently racing or that has raced in the past 30 years.
And i know there lots of people that are just like me on Vital.
There are also 10-15 year old kids , people that started liking the sport last week, and people that sit Down and log in after a few adult beverages lol.
Anyhow in this instance Guy says some of or Experts where questioning your pass well maybe they where experts.

I'm right there with you. Seems we're probably around the same age. It's frustrating on here sometimes, wading through the muck to have a productive conversation or difference of opinion. My assumption has always been the same...youngins full of mustard, maybe a few pops for the older fellars and most of all, steroids. Lots of dianabol in here. I was of the opinion Blake farted around behind Cooper, but it was just that. An opinion. I obviously have no evidence one way or the other and could really care less in the grand scheme of things. I get worn out on opinions becoming challenges of intellect or manhood.

Shit that boot cleaning guy had me in tears laughing on a packed Tokyo subway.. made my day!

It doesn’t mean the poster is thin skinned...but it means your employer or customer (whoever asked you to stop posting) is thinned skinned...and it proves that the industry cares WAY to much about this forum and WAY more than they like to admit.

Of all the moto fans in the country...what 2%-3% look at this forum? (Of all the guys I ride/race with I know of two of them that even know what this forum is). And yet the industry cares so much what goes on here that they’d ask an employee to drop a discussion or guyB to clip a thread? Doesn’t make any sense...the industry cares so much what goes on here because they are on here-not because we vitards on here (they aren’t concerned with what we think, they are concerned about what other industry people will think)...if they weren’t on here and didn’t care about it-like they claim-then they wouldn’t care what one of their companies employees say.

Did Blake also eventually (and cleanly) make his way by?

When I walked into their pit area, I heard about it from a couple people there. Blake and I also talked about it before I started recording. It was all in fun.
It was so obvious you were just having some fun. And Blake had a fun answer back. Good stuff GuyB! Come on guys.

Gibby used to (maybe still does) frown on the term "Vitard". I wear it like a badge of honor. Not to say that I like posting stupid stuff or hate filled diatribes...but rather I consider "Vitard" a utilitarian word much the same as the word "fuck".

Everyone knows they are being insulted when they are called a "dumb fuck". Our chests puff up when someone says, " You are fucking amazing".

If you come on the board to complain about other members or riders or the outcome of races...you're a "Vitard".

If you come on here cause it's a great way to keep up with the sport, full of funny, smart people...you're a "Vitard".

Yea let’s make fun of the fans. That’s professional and cool. One of the many reasons MX will never be mainstream. Blake handled the question as best as he could.

Well, 99.9% of us posting on here thinking this and that about how the pros should ride and/or behave constantly has really no clue what it's actually like to be out there and to live the life they do.
So GuyB is very correct.

We're all kind of assholes honestly.

Still fun though Tongue

You, Buttonfly and DV have all been able to stand your ground and slap back when needed. No safe space website needed for you guys. Much respect here.

Will you two know nothing Vitards get a room?

Was there not a thread where several people chimed in about Blake and how he raced Cooper last weekend?

Did Blake also eventually (and cleanly) make his way by?

When I walked into their pit area, I heard about it from a couple people there. Blake and I also talked about it before I started recording. It was all in fun.
I’m surprised you could hear over the hammering. ??. Miss you Steve. ??

Post a reply to: Blake claps back at Vitard keyboard racers...LOL
