Decotis just mentioned on the podium that Dirt Wurx changed the whoops into jumpers. The whoop design is the issue, not the riders (for the most part).

All I can say as a fan, and my personal opinion is that I don’t enjoy watching people jump through the. If your going to dumb them down enough that guys can they might as well just get rid of them for another rythme section.
Seems like dumbed down would be easy blitzers.

Made this race fer sure

ummm...webb just proved you wrong, so perhaps you should actually try watching a race, lol.

Utterly irrelevant. Try posting something that makes sense and is more intelligent...if you can, lol.

"Utterly irrelevant..." let me work through this for you Einstein:
How many times has Reed ever had a faster lap time than Webb this season?
But he did today on a track with tough whoops....and here's a hint; one of them was jumping through and the other was blitzing.....hmmm what was the difference???

Ummm...its quite simple oh brain dead one. There are several other sections to the track to gain or loose time in but you morons are so singularly focused on just one particular section that you can't see the forest for the trees, lol.

Also, which technique is faster for one person is not always faster for another,, so mow just go away and play with your ken and barbie dolls until you have something intelligent to post...if you ever do, lol.

They removed the only section where quality beats average.
In practice many where struggling during race just a view.

It's a circus and this was the last night I watched it!
It's a joke.

Whoops are NOT meant to be jumped, this is why SX is a speciality. Make them bigger with 2 long sets at every race but on different sections

supposedly a certain Team Manager went and cried so the whoops were knocked down some earlier in the day.

Was he a foreign team manager with two riders that are some of the worst at blitzing whoops?

Agreed. They way they build them is making it just as fast to jump through them than try to skim them and it's frustrating to watch.

I get confused by this point of view, personally.

As a fan, I like to see racing, not necessarily exhibitions. When obstacles can be done in different ways, to me it adds to the racing, even though it may take away from "exhibitions". In the case of the whoops last night it gave riders the ability to try something different than their competitors to attempt to get an advantage in that section and it made the race itself a little more exciting.

In 85 Daytona we ran 3rd or 4th gear straight into bare lightpoles that had dirt on them for about 3 laps that morning off a 40 man gate ,and there were 2 sets of them

This looks piece o cake
Did your beer come in a long-neck botttle or in a little green “barrel”?

One other way of making jumping whoops less appealing is to not have them right out of a corner, whoops directly out of a corner are easy to jump because the speed is slow at the start so they are easy to time your entry into them. By having a flat section before the whoops were you can gain speed before entering will make them more skimming whoops as its a lot harder to jump at speed.

The problem is, the dirt is so soft that they break down and get cupped so bad that jumping becomes faster. The best way to fix that is to add lime to the dirt so they harden and don't break down so fast. Last time there was a thread on here about lime, most wanted to castrate everybody that was involved with putting it in the dirt. So I guess you get what you ask for.
As far as huge whoops go, the bigger the whoops the higher the risk of injury. Most already call this sport deathcross

Last night's track was the hardest and slickest I've ever seen in Seattle. The track didn't break down at all. It looked like Vegas out there

He’s a foreigner during the season but Merica’s leader icon idol at MXdN time?

Deano was manhandling the whoops pretty well I'd say.

I don't understand this thread. Blitzing these whoops was faster than jumping them 100%, if you did it well. It's always been like this. Look at Reed or even Wilson destroying those whoops and tell me it wasn't faster. The riders just aren't as good these days at blitzing long hard whoop sections. Even Tomac isn't as good in these kinds of long whoop sections like the likes of Reed or Brayton who has been racing that stuff back in the day.

I agree with this... its super disappointing that they are made now to be jumped through... Bring back the old days of technical big whoops that took a ton of skill... any one of us kooks could jump through whoops.. maybe not as fast as them, but we still could... I thought the pro's were pro's for a reason...super disappointed in the decision to take them down...

Any video of the whoops before they made them smaller?
