No actually I'm bitching about it I have a daughter who raced for 10 years and I fully supported her so no I have no problem with women I do have a problem when real female riders find this segment a joke. And snow flakes like you and your pic correct crowd need to be real and know what your talking about

Haha holy shit. You can’t make this much stupidity up. You may have supported your daughter financially but just by that statement alone it’s pretty obvious you didn’t respect her.

Damn I would of not thought of this to be such a hostile subject. I personally thought it was a great use of sponsor air time. It click on multiple levels. I would rather spend a couple of minutes learning about a woman's life that is involved in our sport then 2 minutes of trucks driving on random bits of highway and desert. It helps Toyota and the image of them and the sport of supercross. It may not suit everyone but what does.

So wrong I support her (she paid for most of her riding) the support I gave her then and now will never change so your way off base, but who cares what is said on this I don't know you nor ever will. So judgement by you only entertains me thanx for the laughs

Maybe you guys didn't catch this during the Makeup-2-Mud segment this week, but they announced Toyota is doing a camp at Cycle Ranch in Texas, open to Toyota owners. Seems weird to me guys hating on a major outside sponsor offering such cool things (Toyota also offers free Futures entry and SX tickets to Toyota owners).

https://www.supercrosslive.com/toyotacampm2m

Toyota is kicking ass for the sport!

Free entry to futures if you own a toyota within I think 5 years...

Free ride at cycle ranch if you bring a female rider in a toyota..
And I may be mistaken but their will be some sx pros there

I'd say thats quite good.

I have a teenage daughter that rides. (disclaimer)

Advertising mens motocross on Oprah is missing the correct audience. So is having a segment on women riders when there is not one on the gate.

Most men hear enough about "Muh female empowerment" at their jobs, school ,life and TV to not want to hear about it while we are trying to drink a beer, relax and watch a SX race and forget about it all.

Until men put their foot down on male bashing it will only intensify. If you have not noticed this "trend" you are either

A. A very "cucked" male that enjoys it.

B. Living in Antarctica w/out Internet.

C. Afraid to say something and have the PC police play "whack a mole" on your life.

The male bashing is everywhere. It is already hard to watch the "social media" segment.
Maybe I am getting old but I don't GAF about what some retards are wearing sitting on their bikes while watching TV in their garage or some tatted, pierced up chick that rides bikes. WGAF?

Show me the racing I am paying to see and maybe some cool bike segments from the pits like the old days or back stories on the rider's personal lives and training or diet.

Anything other than some chick on a bike that falls over on a log. WTF? How is this TV worthy?

Why am I paying to see this?

I do believe this is an appropriate time to bring Breast protectors into this conversation.... you know, with Seely and all.

I do find it odd that they don't showcase more of the badass race chicks. All the young girls who are sitting with their family watching supercross probably already know about the sport and likely ride/race. It seems like the target market would be girls who already race, not wives who may potentially ride after randomly seeing a commercial during the sport they aren't truly a fan of. I mean, that's who is going to be interested in a truck anyways. Wouldn't it be advantageous to make bigger stars out of the top female riders? Show what Hannah Hodges is doing against the boys. Show the top WMX girls battling it out. The feel good story is nice, but it seems impractical.

I have no issue with M2M. I would just rather see the JR race, as I have two boys around that age who would love to see it.

What I want to know...with all the M2M induced pearl clutching here, how do ACTUAL women feel about the segment? Bc I'm assuming most, if not all, the respondents on these threads are male. Therefore not the intended target demographic to begin with.

I mean, I know I have my opinions, but are they really relevant considering that at the end of the day, this show is not for or about me?
Just a thought.

This whole subject has been heavily debated many times on this forum. Sucks to re visit it each time. But if 10 percent of the woman who watched sx decided to go buy motorcyles form this makeup to mud segment - we'd have a MASSIVE increase in bike sales. The male involvement to riding is already maxed out.

I can tell you this is just wishful thinking of todays marketing practices. The only women watching SX are doing it because someone in their circle is a fan. The amount of women who just randomly decided to watch the SX race on their own and actually saw the makeup2mud segment and will actually do anything because of it doesnt even show up mathematically.

Any female who saw Makeup2Mud is already aware of dirt bikes because their partner or kid rides one. They have plenty of influence to ride a bike or an atv already, that segment is not going to make a difference at all. They should show Makeup2Mud during Greys Anatomy or The Bachelor if they want to attract new women tot he sport.

There is at least a dozen better things to do during that segment for helping the sport grow. I dont really mind it so much, its dead time between races so I am not missing anything, but I would want more rider segments, or Science of Supercross, maybe some history of SX. I think I would rather watch a Monster chick with a flamethrower and Axel jumping something big and stupid. My wife and daughter watched Makeup2Mud a few times, they really didnt get the urge to ride. They did say most of them looked gay and I couldnt argue that point.
This just shows how thoughtless you are on this subject. My daughter rides sometimes but it's just guys around so she feels out of place. Many times she has given up on it but since Makeup2Mud it has made her feel like other girls do it too. So now she is more likely to stick with it when she gets older instead of just giving bgh up on it. So yes it could lead to more sales instead if a bunch of girls with Dads who ride that give up on it when they leave the house, you have a bunch of girls that keep riding and spend their own money on it when they grow up.

That is far more likely than getting the attention of some girls that have never been introduced to it. Riding is insanely expensive and also very difficult to get into without someone to introduce you to it and show you the way.

Thats great your daughter rides. Makeup2mud didnt introduce her to bikes or riding, you did. If she keeps riding it will be because she wants to or the relationships she has keep her riding. Facts are that girls have been riding dirt bikes and atvs forever as kids and teens but the ratio of boys vs girls remains constant.

In two years Toyota will have moved on to some other bright marketing campaign bc they as a corporation wont play the long game on this one. The amount of women buying bikes and pickups from this campaign wont make a blip. Its just a PC campaign that Toyota ad execs threw some spare money at so they can say they are PC. Its really no different than every sportscast has to have a woman as part of the broadcast team to be PC when theres a thousand better candidates out there.

I have two daughters entering college and a wife for 30 years and they dont feel like they need any help or exposure to accomplish goals or dreams from ad campaigns on TV. They like what they like and they dont Really care what anyone on TV says they can or cant do. None of us have Social Media so maybe we are in the minority. We base our lives on...our lives.

Like I said, I dont have a problem with the piece, I watch them all, but I really dont see the value or the point. I see it for what it is, a fluff piece for Toyota to throw some spare change at to check a box off on their PC and erhics goals.

I will bet you any anount of money this piece wont be around in 2 years and the ratio of men vs women in SX or MX will be the same in 10 years because as hard as the world tries to prove men and women 100% equal, they just arent and thats a good thing because we make up for each others weaknesses in a ying yang way.

DMan, youre just another liberal from California who has poor reading comprehension and has the typical Vitard response of resorting to insults and vulgarity to try to prove a point but I will humor you anyways. His daughter was already riding, HE introduced HIS daughter to riding, not some segment on TV. Youre argument doesnt hold water anyways, you falsely believe his daughter rides bc of the segment, and I can factually tell you I have 3 women who watched the segment and have no more or less desire to ride or not to ride. My wife doesnt care for riding at all, my daughters will ride for fun whenever the timing is right and they have the time. They are busy studying and playing other ball sports like soccer and volleyball, or wanting to go boating and fishing.

They like cycling, riding MTB, and ATVs off road, fishing and boating because "I" introduced them to it. They like volleyball, soccer and doing their hair and nails because its just other stuff they found out about through relationships.

Trying to win an argument on the internet by screaming louder and using vulgar straw man arguments is pretty futile, hopefully one day you will realize that, but I doubt it.

It doesnt matter how loud and rude you get, you will not change peoples mind by ramping it up. I present my opinion in a non threatening way and without being rude or vulgar, I didnt demean or attack anyones opinion, I just provided the other side of the case. Now if we were having this conversation in person I would also treat the other party with the same respect, the keyboard and miles make no difference. I am pretty sure you would not say what you wrote to my face or many other peoples face because you know that would not go well for you.

If you want to have an opinion, communicate it effectively and provide some compelling facts to back it up, otherwise you are just wasting bandwidth, screen space and keystrokes.

I see a lot of things on TV every day, shooting, killing, robbery, sports, politics, sci-fi entertainment, none if it makes me want to do it. Real-life, not tv or social media influences me and my family. The women I know dont race or ride as much as men because they just dont have the same interests and most women dont enjoy getting broken bones, hospital visits, long term injuries, scars and all the badges of courage us men like. Thats just a fact and numbers dont lie. The women who do are a very small percentage. If it was my money, I would market to the most likely demographic to buy my product. Toyota just picks a cause and runs the segments for a year or two, just like the wounded warrior segment, SX is a very cheap product to spend some of their Ad budget to tick a few boxes on their goal sheet. Its good for them and its good for SX because they need the money. I will keep watching SX regardless of the segments but I also want more segments like Science of Supercross and some real pit reporting more than Makeup2Mud.

YOUR daughter and the women YOU know = a miniscule sample of the female population. The world does not revolve around you and your circles. And trying to win an argument by positioning YOURSELF as the center of the issue is pretty textbook "I'm a speshul snowflake!!@!" attitude in itself, don't you think? I mean, since you went there to OP. Wink
