For those saying it would be an amateur kit I would recommend you go read the AMA rules. First I bet the AMA would have a problem with a non production motorcycle. Like was said before, they haven't updated the RM85 for ever, if they are that concerned with amateur racing then spend the R&D money updating that bike.
There is no 125 stock class, schoolboy is a mod class. From what Wheeler said the frame and engine combo is suppose to be a bolt on to the existing RMZ250 chassis so there would be no frame modifications that would be an issue. Even if it where an issue, the manufactures say what goes. Suzuki would work it out and get it legal.

I don't believe I mentioned specific classes but since you did, it wouldn't be legal in 250B Limited, 250C Limited, or 250C JR Limited. So yea you could run it in Schoolboy.

My point is, if it's their intent to grow their amateur program it shouldn't be with a kit. It should be an actual production bike.

Now if it's just to make us old guys happy about a new 2 stroke option then all is great.

My son was out there too. He thought it was a conversation/build that someone had done on a new chassis. Said it was super clean and stock looking.

I keep hearing the rumor, engine package that bolts into a 250f chassie. Seems far fetched and I'm guessing it's fake news and a totally new bike will be released.

Okay, so if they have an amateur program, those guys could ride the classes you just listed...on a 250. Which Suzuki makes, believe it or not.

There was something coming couple years back but team and guys who planned to race with it went another direction before it really came out. 4-Stroke frame and updated 125cc engine. Not sure who is Suzuki´s new young talent, if there was someone needing Suzuki 125cc we would know it right?

Don't know. Definitely an interesting picture, however I won't get my hopes up. If they just released the same models they discontinued with BNG they would sell like crazy.

No they wouldn't. People would act all excited about it, then they would rave about how much better the KTM smokers are because of the years and years of development. It would be nothing more than an extension of the YZ vs KTM argument.

Makes sence why they went to all the trouble of producing the new RMZ250 with a centre port engine and frame. New 2 stroke engine cases at a minimum that have bolt holes the same pattern as the 4 and it can then share the same rolling chassis as 250F. Brings production costs right down when you share that many components. We'll see I guess.

From what I have learned here on Vital, all of those old RM frames are stretched so far out of spec and crank cases are so misaligned and egg shaped that none of them would ever be usable. That's why you never see any mx bikes over a couple years old being ridden.
