Bringing OSHA in would be worse than bringing USADA and WADA in. Look how that's worked out.

Yea they shouldnt try to cash in... but if your extreeemely expensive bikes are destroyed and you have medical bills you just say f it? Whenever something “controversial” happens your going to have extreme opinions on both sides... then reality is usually somewhere in the middle. Dont try to get rich, but get compensated for damages. Reasonable, no?

OSHA is not the answer. All the teams and privateers should get together and come up with an agreeable settlement.

just stop it man, lime this lime that. by all accounts it looks like feld is stepping up and handling the problem, yet a lot of you think that these 80 riders should be set for life through a law suit. the fact is these guys would race every weekend under these exact same conditions. shit happens some times and we just have to deal with it. if i have worked for a company for multiple yrs with no issues but something comes up should i jump to sue mode or work with them? for all you little butthole people under 25 who think that these racers deserve this huge law suit......thats not how life works. fact is if all these guys walked away feld would replace them 100 to 1 with guys that would race. the promoters would promote these guys as being the best and pretty soon we would all believe it and keep watching. life's not perfect, how you address those imperfection will determine your success.

If they were breathing it, they would have drowned.

I'm not a scientist, but is it possible that the aluminum frames that were exposed to lime saturday will have to be replaced? While they may look fine on the suraface once cleaned, will they still be as strong and exhibit the same flex characteristics as before?
Maybe an issue if you parked it in a shed afterwards for a few years. Each one of those bikes (even the poor privateers) were washed if not that night, then the next morning. All those bikes are disassembled and rebuilt after any mud race.

If a Rider makes a single mistake a mental lapse in judgment feld will hammer said under paid rider with fines docking points maybe suspension all situational of course.. Feld makes a mistake and your saying "man up, its life"

Just because you "manned up" and just did what you were told instead of grabbing your balls and speaking up for what is right and isn't right, doesn't make it ok for some one or some company to make severe mistake and expect people to just let it go!

Replace the riders? The riders are the show. Your crazy if you think they could put butts in the seats or sell Gold packages to us so I could watch local pros flounder around a SX track. They should compensate these guys properly or get their asses sued off, end of story.

The thread I started the other day of "Feld may finally have to pay the racers" was alluding to; the fact that Feld has neglected a proper pay to the athletes for all of these years guys and teams may not think twice about suing. If Feld had taken care of the guys all along by paying them for their service, they might not be so willing to sue.

5k? See, this is where all the guys that loved that press release are gonna find out that its not over until its over.

IMO, every rider should get 20k for their bike and having to ride in that limed up mess, plus any medical bills. I would consider that the "low end" of the range they should be cutting checks for. Feld has billions, they CAN afford it no matter the spin they put on it, and they should pony up on this one to keep good faith going forward.
This. 5K is not nearly enough for bike replacement and/or medical needs. As someone else mentioned, anyone who takes that 5K will be signing release forms so that no legal action can be taken. Feld is not doing enough, they are in fact doing as little as possible.

Why do you need bike replacement?

For the participants that suffered a physical reaction, yes they need some compensation. The number of folks that had a reaction is more than likely way less than what is being blown out of proportion.

Maybe you didn’t see the bikes. The engines, forks, frames, and most other parts look like they are 20 years old. And Feld needs to compensate for that.

You bring a lawsuit against Feld an I'll bet you that your supercross career is over. They ain't gonna let you on the premises let alone line up and race one of their events while you are suing the pants off of them. And I'm guessing that even after the suit is settled that they won't be accepting any more of your entry fees......

It's important to think things through before pissing off an extremely big company that has a long reach. When you get to be known as the 'I'm gonna sue guy'.....you'll find that lots of people and companies will distance themselves from you before they get the registered letter.......Just saying....

Jesus H Christ. I've been in construction my entire adult life and was a contractor for twenty years. I've had more lime "burns" than l can even count. It ain't the end of the world boys and girls. Boo fucking Hoo.

And l don't give one shit about your age but if you're a sue happy jackass then you are a gigantic part of the problem.

Oh and yes please get OSHA up your ass too you fricken geniuses. Anyone want to remember how that FIM powerplay from years ago worked out?

Let the riders and Feld work this out and if Feld acts the asshole, totally possible, then there will be plenty of time to SUE, SUE, SUE!!!!!

Most privateers will likely gladly take the $5000 I'd think. Does the rider get the $5000 bike money if he doesn't own the bike? Feld can start a new race called "Rash for Cash".
