I just saw this on Race day Live . Daniel and Jett made a bet for $100 on the 450 main winner, and shook hands on it on NBC Gold live broadcast. Dan picked Marvin, Jett took Eli. Jett is 15 years old. In my state that is illegal, and they could be charged for it. And Blair could be charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Was it proper? What will NBC and Feld think. It was even brought up again at the end of the broadcast. I don't know the laws in CA. I don't care at all, but very surprised about it. What do you think?

Jett was the one who came up with the bet and pushed it. Blair was kinda like “really?” but went ahead with it.

Like someone else said if a 15 year old can throw $100 around that fast, amateur racing must pay well.

Update: Daniel Blair was arrested right after the race, has been fired and banned for life from the broadcasting association. He is currently being held in Oakland PD jail without bail and is facing 20 years to life. They do not mess around when it comes to betting on sports with minors. Jett is receiving counseling due to the traumatic nature of this event. Very sad...
