The rear wheel always spins faster. Imagine driving the bike slowly, with little throttle in first gear, with no spin.. The rpm's from the rear wheel will be faster than the rpm's from the front wheel. The front wheel is a greater diameter than the rear. In the same distance it will have less rpm's.

This method works great on a 4 stroke. Did it all the time. Install one circlip in the piston. Then install the rings on the piston with the proper orientation.
