What was your 1st bike ?

1992 PW50. Sat in my room with no gas or oil for a while. My dad made it so the stand wouldn't fold up and I used it as a rocking horse until I was 2 1/2 and he put training wheels on it for me. I'll have to look for some pics of it!

My dad bought it with the Yamabucks he made racing haha

My parents told me i would kill myself on a dirt bike, so they opted to buy me a moped instead at age 11. They regreated that purchase as I would ride with buddies who had dirt bikes and try and jump what they did. Lol. Needless to say that moped didn't last a summer. Then they bought me an 84 yz80. Now that bike was a blast to ride. Miss those days. Merry Christmas everyone! And thanks for the stroll down memory lane.

1999 XR80. I was too small for it so my dad took the seat off and taped a board with a rag on it to the frame so I could touch the ground for a few months. Hah!

Cool to see some old aircooled 80’s i had a 1981 Suzuki RM80, bought this from my own money in 1996 when i was almost 12 years old. Payed 250 Dutch Gulden (before the Euro was introduced, around $100-110) and used it to ride at closed factory / clay extraction location at the village I lived (until the 1960's there were a lot of small stone factory's around the river the Rijn in Germany and The Netherlands).

Riding was tolerated by the local Police (we cannot ride free anywhere in the Netherlands…), but I started visiting some MX tracks. The RM80 was an old bike, but I was pretty quick on it (especially looking at it’s poor suspension),. Some things broke down, but all could be fixed fairly easy (and I learned a lot by doing!) and cheap but the bike was getting more and more a limiting factor.

Was thinking of switching to a more recent water-cooled 80 cc, but made the switch to an 1993 Honda CR125 when I was just 14. I was (and still am) light and small and couldn’t touch the ground at all.....
Alto not my first bike, still love this picture back in Heerde, 2000 at a motocross training week by Erik Eggens:

Keefer or JT will cry for days when they see my mixed brands Wink .

Against the will of my dad, when I was 15 I bought a 1986 CR 125. Great bike. Loved it. For a while I thought he was going to make me sell it, but he never said anything about it. I rode the wheels off that bike.

I started on this 1974 XR75. It's a miracle that it still functioned by the time my two older brothers grew out of it. We rode that thing a lot.

My first shifting bike was a 1974 Hodaka Dirt Squirt like this one when I was 14 years old. It was a good beginner bike but I outgrew it fast, I picked up a used 1974 Husky 250CR a year later ,it was a pretty good bike to start riding motocross.
