I see him going to the USA and getting hurt al for the sake of the supercross sideshow...I hope I'm wrong..hope I'm just a silly ol worry wart... but farrrrrk! That sx shit is just soooo dangerous. Outdoor motocross is where the ferriswheel goes round ...
Anyway.....hes not even on the radar in this thread...it's like he never even blew over there and pulled that 2nd at steel cuty last year...just ignore..
What if he managed to wrangle himself an outdoors only deal?
I dunno if he could manage it but stranger things and all that

JS7 is done. I don't think we will ever hear from, or see him again.

CR22 will come back with his own deal again.

I think JGR will continue to provide Mookie with a bike for SX.

No literal, as it's highly unlikely the second spot (for example, if it is Webb) will be getting that high of a contract this go-around.

JGR was committed to running three bikes this year if needed, that's why I have them listed. They were going to continue to field Nicoletti when Bogle came back, but there wasn't budget for pay. So they let him free to pursue a good gig with Husky. If Bogle would've come back late in SX, they were committed to running Peick, Bogle, and Stewart.

Red Bull KTM did the past year and rumor is that they would like to again.

Rockstar Husky is a maybe, to keep Dean.

Not suggesting the other three (Kawi, Yamaha, or Honda) will support three riders.
Cool I hope the couple teams do run 3 bikes. I hope Wilson Stays at husky . And bogle and Mookie land a spot

We checked out Hollywood Boulevard which was a disappointment, but then we went across to Beverly Hills which was much nicer. We ended up walking down some famous street where Julia Roberts went shopping in "Pretty Women" (or something like that..). I kinda struggle to enjoy time off while I'm in season, but it was probably good for me in some way. You could probably guess what the whole USA trip was all about... Hopefully I'll have some good news in my next blog Wink ""

I thought he signed with CDR through 2019?
He ruled out being on our mxon team early on, because it clashes with sx..seems really motivated for sx this year..

So if he were to lob in the USA for 2019, where would he land?

He probably has an option that allows him out of his co tract if it’s a US team and not an AUS team.

He needs to focus on SX if he is going to race in the US as that’s were the exposure is and he won’t get much. Or making mains, aswell he probably wants to win both series for Dacka before he leaves

Most likely land on a Yamaha as he loves the bike and is very familiar with it, no point coming all the way over and trying to get a new bike dialled shortly before A1 when he isn’t quite at the level of the top guys in the US just yet.

Hope he gets a good deal and can show his potential especially in MX full time

You yourself already said you thought he was signed through 2019 with CDR. Dean is a beast outdoors and I wish him the best but it sounds like he already has a deal in Australia. Why would he come up in a "2019 US Silly Season" post?? I don't think that means anyone is ignoring the fact he rips. It's just not relevant to the conversation. We haven't talked about Herlings in this post either. Does that mean we have no idea who he is either??

Didn't you read what he said in his blog?
That's what has me intrigued...in the middle of the race season here, he makes a special trip to California for " a couple of meetings " says we can probably guess what that was about and hopes to have some news soon..

Maybe he can get out of his 2019 contract if he gets a good offer from a USA team....I think Craig Dack would never stand in the way of him chasing the dream..
Anyway, if so...what team would he likely lob in...silly season thread, seems he's worth considering

Would it be possible that someone like Peick or Seely got the #2 spot at KTM? And MAYBE Josh Grant could get the #3 spot with a Supercross only deal and fill in outdoors? I doubt Suzuki let’s Peick go but he would be a perfect #2 behind Marv

Plus Smith has shown some potential in outdoors too. And he's a lot younger than A Mart so you could naturally assume that Smith will continue to get better where Amart probably won't be improving that much

I would add that both Smith and McElrath did GREAT in SX but are not fully delivering outdoor.

Maybe because currently their ride depend mainly on SX results, but they need to do a bit better to take a spot in 450.

It's going to be interesting. It'll be a lot of stuff we don't see coming just because riders are going to undercut each other to get on good equipment

I saw he got 2nd in a moto at High Point National but missed the steel city result... wonder who beat him.. Maybe getting 2nd at a local race is hurting his chances?

What about Reed? Obv said recently on TWMX interview he doesn’t want to go it alone...does that mean part of a team or financially? Now that he’s healed up and getting fit I think we will see the fast Reed in ‘19.
What’s the word? Solo with support, or a team member?

Honestly if Webb doesn't get the KTM job would Reed end up there?

I ride with a recently retired Pro, who is still involved in all this. His take is...
Joey to Kawi on a 450, because Green either signs him or loses him to another color.
JG33 is out at Kawi.
No clue on Seely yet.
A Mart to JGR.
Wilson to KTM.
Webb stays at Yamaha with a massive pay cut.
Peick is not going anywhere, JGR has him on lock.
JS7 is long gone. That train is never coming back. He's got issues to deal with that are way bigger than racing dirtbikes.

Sorry, I do tend to get names mixed up...
Saw something here on vital the other day from one of the admins, that Ferris is possibly on the radar for Yamaha in the USA.
Hes certainly killing it here again this year, just wish he was able to do the mxon...Kirk Gibbs has injury problems, Todd Waters doesn't sem to be up to speed after his injury..we won't be fielding our best riders this year.

You sound like you know him...

But if you mean like being husband to his wife, a good Daddy to his two kids, playing golf when he feels like it, and not taking any more chances to get any more concussions? Yep, those issues are way bigger than racing dirtbikes to make us happy!
