So the mxon 2019 is going to be held at assen who thinks of this s**t?! Seems like youthstream wants to bury the sport into the ground!

Not stoked on Assen but at least its within driving distance, love a good road trip.

Matterly in March will be a total mess. If its anything like the March we had this year they may even struggle to run it.

No US GP on calender. What's the chances they make it the opening round? Everyones on the right side of the Atlantic for the following round in Argentina. US riders won't want to have a go right in the middle of SX. Not sure why Assen other than the favourable infrastructure.

Watching the gp at Assen feels 1 dimensional and synthetic. The most historic annual event in the sport should be held at real motocross facilities like it has the last 50+ years.

Hope the usa and other countries don't even bother sending a team.

Ok ok, we can dream lol. Otherwise, 4 rounds in Asia + 1 possibly in middle east (Saudi Arabia?) is not bad to grow the total number of riders globally, IF:

- the tracks are great (such as Argentina, btw other track in 19)
- with elevations (stop parking lot racing)
- in great locations (such as the Russian GP)
- with great visibility (see how french tracks are often on a hill ?)
- with lots of public,
- so with affordable tickets (not half a F1 ticket),
- that can see the riders (so no huge adverts everywhere to only see 1 lane on the whole track).

That is just a few basic criteria to consider it as a success. Wink

I'd be all in for a boycott of MXdN by any and all teams next year. Nobody gives a shit about anything but money these days. Luongo wouldn't be holding the race there if he didn't think it would fill his pockets better than somewhere else.

Why is going to Indonesia, China and Hong Kong 'fucking ridiculous' and 'what the feck'?

I think last years timing of the indonesian round (rain season) and the remote location were not the best choices, but i don't see why a world championship should not go to Indonesia.

As for twice in Indonesia: There are 2 GP's in the Netherlands this year, and including Lommel 3 within 150 miles. The 2 indonesian rounds are 1000 miles apart, on 2 different islands.

Everyone said that about Donnington park but I thought it was a great race and venue.

I wouldn't be surprised if the FIM begins choosing sand tracks every year so the Europeans win and make their bid as the most competitive championship in the world to newer viewers.

I think Assen is an awesome track, it's no Lommel or Valkenswaard but it's 10x better than Pangkal Pinang or Losail. IMO Assen isn't that much different from Ottobiano.

dont care much what type of track etc etc ...as long as racing is good , im good ...
riders need to be able to pass for a good race , most "classic" style tracks these days are just one lined and boring ... Germany , Russia etc ..... top 8 first corner finished in same order at finish , its not what i'd like to see

Great track, great racing (with Cairoli vs Reed battle) and 90.000 people.

I was there. I can assure you there weren’t 90,000 people there. Maybe 10k at a guess. They were all crammed into one area so it looked packed on TV.

Loungo has officially jumped the shark here. I thought it was a cool track for one round of MXGP and I sure as fuck wouldn't want to ride it, but I appreciate it's difficulty. But for MXON? Uh, big fat no. Very disappointing. And I think it will hurt the attendance of teams participating.
