That is actually a great summary of Mewse.. Watson, Mewse and Sterry are imo great examples of why we need to get rid of the age rule. They could have had 5+ years of GPs in them but now they will be doing uk nationals only in a year or 2.
He would have been a two time MXoN winner had they let him start race 2. Think you forgot he raced at Assen as well. 🙂 Great for him to get the win and also great for the Gebben van Venrooy team. Van Venrooy was behind the Venko teams which won a bunch ... more »
If you subtract the teammembers, media, infront people and people from the club/circuit then it looks really awfull. Great track & great races. Just imagine it with 40 guys on the gate and 25.000 fans 😍
Where did i say that these guys would become regular top 15 guys? Or that they will go full time? The discussion is about how to get decent size fields in GP's, as in like we had long time ago with 40 riders lining up. Reality is that if you want more ... more »
No more age limit in mx2 and get rid of emx open. Emx open leads to nothing and reduces the field of mxgp. The afe limit is stupid anyway. Have emx open guys like butron, tropepe, sandner, van berkel etc ride some wildcards at gp's they are good at and ... more »
There will always be some riders from the top in the standings staying in the classe because there are some factory supported rides available, which beats having an ok ride in MX2. Which isnt bad for EMX250 to be honest, it makes for a good reference ... more »
Yeah i think a better question is how do you make MXGP and MX2 more attractive then EMX250 and EMXopen. As i said, it's not just only about money. Jose Butron is doing EMX open for 6 races and that will be over 30.000 kilometer for him. Doing 6 wildcards ... more »
Imo it goes further then a money thing. EMX250 is simply to 'succesfull/attractive' for riders and teams. I mean for the cost of doing 10 rounds of EMX250 you can also do 7 wildcards MX2. Still there are a significant amount of riders & teams who ... more »
Yeah the Coenen boys are very very fast. What impresses me is how quickly they are running up front after moving up from 125's. Still very inconsistent, but only 15 years old. Imo put them on a factory bike in mx2 next year and they will surprise. Not ... more »
According to mxmag it was a technical issue.
Its a tough class. I am more surprised by the lack of results of his teammates Bonacorsi and kooiker. Bonacorsi was 4th overall last year and outside top 10 right now. Not sure if they have injuries or if there is a different reason.
Does live timing work for you?
The way i read the interview with dixon it soubded like Horgmo and Haarup where under contract with kawa. F&h wanted to do both mxgp & mx2, so 1 rider was enough for them. With haarup not having a good match with f&h kawa the chooce was easy. ... more »
Thing is that we are not talking about 25 secs a lap slower. There are bunch of guys who are within a couple of secs who dont line up.
I've had it for the whole weekend. Could watch it when i changed device
Anybody got issues with mxgp tv? When i click live i get the start of the broadcast (as in start of the day).
Yeah i would not be surprised. I don't really blame them, they just take advantage of the rules & having the budget. Except for the guys really of the pace (like the suzuki guy at Arco), that's just painfull to watch.
I think the back end of MX2 would have a hard time in EMX250 as well to be honest. I like it that emx guys like Pumpurs, Rizzi, Spiess, Gwerder, etc are in MX2 this weekend and i feel they can compete with mx2 guys like Ambjronsson, Olsson, Haberland ... more »
Talviku has been good in EMX250 and Dutch Masters this year, but not a match for Elzinga (1 to 2 seconds slower at these events). My guess would be with a decent start Talviku will fight for points
The list of entries isnt correct (Oliver is injured i think, Jens Walvoort will ride), but at least it looks like a nice full field again in mx2
