Good info! And they cost almost nothing. I get them for 7€ here.
I might have to give it a try!

Edit: Do you run the same pressure?
yes-same pressure with the Fatbike tubes!

What is this debate all about here? Guys with a 2018 Honda CRF 250 might want some more power (as they are down compared to the other manufacturers) and they need to loose weight (as they are way up compared with the competition). So i posted info on how to loose weight on the stock exhaust which costs you nothing....and i posted that you can spend 1300$ (i won't tell you how much that really was shipped to Europe and adding Tax&customs over here...)....only to loose 0,1 lbs over the stocker we already had.

With the Honda you are down on power and you ride around with 5 kilos extra. For a racer this is just a burden.

Yet there's indeed guys arguing that a heavier bike isn't any worse? That it doesn't matter anyway? That you have to accept it (when the KTM/Husky don't come with this weight)....well - that might be ok for the weekend warrior, the trail rider etc...but if you are a racer it's hard to accept and my post was to shed some light and info on a item many might have thought would be a remedy for both issues: power & weight.

Well - with the PC i'd say at least the weight loss isn't achieved.

This guys problem is he bought the wrong system. He has the Ti 6 PRO, he should have bought the non-pro. It has shorter mufflers and less weight

The fmf full ti system for the ktm450 is actually 3lbs lighter than stock, it's all in the header.

But what is really crazy is that ktm450 is lighter than the crf250 to begin with.

I'll give it a try with Maxxis Fatbike inner tube. I can use Maxxis Fat Bike inner tube 26x3.8/8.0 for both front and rear?

Yes - same size front & rear

I use talkum powder (Babypowder) when installing tubes as this helps a lot to avoid pinching the tube. It allows the rubber tube to move inside the tire instead of sticking to the sidewalls. We all know that tubes can just stick to the inside of a tire...this is prevented when using babypowder.

your not going to go any faster if its even four pounds lighter. Get an exhaust to help the bottom end, forget about the weight! Quit listening to MXA. If the KTM/Husky did not exist, the weight argument would have never happened, Its in everybody's head. Fricken RMZ450 2018 is a perfect example. The new honda handles like a dream. Just fill in the weak spot in the powerband and go kill it!
This guy gets it.

Unless your building a full blown race bike for a serious racer, what’s the point? Never understood why people spend so much money to save just a few lbs when it’s not going to gain hp or make them a bit faster. Want a light bike, go get a KTM.

Finally a good thread. Thanks for bringing this stuff up OP. I wonder how much lighter a 18 125sx is compared to ab18 250sxf, 10lbs?

You still didn't get the point:
HP is felt in acceleration only.

Weight on the other hand is felt 4 times, and makes you actually faster while tiring out less! But as long as you haven't ridden a light bike it's useless to argue with you.

The idea behind this Titanium exhaust was to improve HP AND drop some weight at the same time.

According to KTM, the difference is about 25 lbs.

Have you even ridden a 18 CFR250R? if you did then you WOULD know that there is no way you feel the extra weight on the track, some test riders have even commented that it feels lighter on the track than a KTM/Husky....so how does that translate into making them more tired??

Bro... do like the pros do and just drill a bunch of holes in the exhaust. You can really shave a lot of weight that way. Swiss cheese that sucker!

Wait wait wait... You mean because it doesn't "feel" heavier, it doesn't mean your muscles can feel it after a long moto?

So if you save 1 lb on a pipe your going to be able to tell a huge difference and it’s going to magically not make you as tired?

I’ve ridden plenty of light bikes.

Not but lbs add up. Take away 25lbs im sure youll feel that. Same as hp. Tell me the exhaust people pay $900 for and adds .25hp does that make any difference?

Insane in here sometimes.

If weight doesn't matter why do factory teams invest thousands of dollars on titanium and carbon fiber parts to make bikes lighter? Some guys here definitely need to take some basic physics lessons...

The Factory Teams spend all that money on Carbonfiber and Titanium because my daughter has dance lessons 4-5 days a week and her mom likes nice things...or is there some other reason?

Btw, is it just me or did someone suggest risking FLAT TIRES WHILE RACING in the quest for less weight?

I totally “get” and support the idea of a lighter-better race bike; but, creating a thread just to bemoan a RACE TUNING ITEM that can actually meet AMA/FIM SOUND RULES...well, whinnng about it because it weighs more...
And has more muffler componentry to MEET SOUNDS REQUIREMENTS...
Well, maybe it’s just me...but...dude? (The OP, not the guy I’m quoting and TOTALLY AGREE WITH!...I’m jus’ tagging on)
