I think the bike can be made competitive for SX. Outdoors might be a different story. But the problem here is Hill. Apart from his brief 7-race run in 2017 he has never put the pieces together for very long. He left PC the first time unhappy with the team. He then left factory KTM support and TLD because he was unhappy with the team. He won himself a regional title, but then he absolutely checked out for the outdoors. He should have bet on himself and that guy in the wheelchair with all the number 1 plates hanging in his truck, defended his title on a green bike and then gone hunting for a contract. But both he and JGR have taken the easy road here, and it is going to end in flames.

Can't think of the kids name right now, but at the end of the GP season he was killing it on the RMZ. I think the bike is plenty capable. Didn't he have #1 qualifier at A1?

It’s not the bike, it’s his effort. Why are people so confused by what’s going on? We’ve seen this same shit from this guy the first time he raced for pc and his time at tld. Honestly he lucked his way into one regional title in his third or fourth attempt at in. I’m personally very happy that his results suck because I think he is an entitled douche bag bro that has never really put the full effort in. He freely admitted that on the pulp show. He will never do shit on a 450. To lazy, to preoccupied being a douche bag just like his brother.
If you actually knew him you would know he isn't a douche. I think that's pretty far over the top what you are saying man. Maybe (maybe) he doesn't train as hard as he should, but Justin is about the farthest thing from a douche. He's a genuinely nice guy that would give anyone the shirt off his back if they needed it, so tone it back a little please.

You’re completely correct. I have never met the kid, he sets a bad tone with his no f’s given attitude in my personal opinion. He has talent just like his brother did just seems really preoccupied doing the BROcal thing.

Mitch said in an interview they made him an offer. And he cant blame Hill for going where they promised a 450 ride. Guess we have to see if that happens. I wanted to see Hill up front battling all season regardless of what color bike he is on.

"I've never met the guy, but this is how he is and I don't like him because of it". You don't see a little bit of a problem with that? You keep doing you bro, it sounds like you have shit all figured out.

I figured he was just over the 250 like he was the outdoors last summer...waiting to get on that 450.

The issue about the outdoors was that he was still being paid to race the outdoors and didn't seem that fired up to actually do what he was being paid to do. So that would be an issue for me as a race team owner. This is a gross generalization I understand and I don't know why he underperformed all summer. But his sx season to date has been pretty underwhelming and he has to own it, and by the sounds of things it might cost him his 450 support. There is no doubt that coming in with a red plate carries some pretty heavy expectations and you had better be ready to throw down and run at the front-that is the expectation that was advertised. The bike certainly can't be the reason that he is wallowing around where he is-his fast laps would indicate as much. There are a lot of dudes on this coast that are dead serious about their preparation to race, and as an example, don't expect to beat a guy like Savatgy if you haven't worked as hard as he has to get ready. And Plessinger, and Mclraith, and AC, and a host of others. He has been very disappointing to date and I was hoping he would be challenging for wins as I love JGR and what they are doing. And the 450's are a whole different animal. In the meantime-go Peick!

Explain then why he shit the bed all summer long in the nationals on the PC bike? Face it. Hill won his championship then rockstarred his way thru the nationals riding around uninspired like he didn't want to be there. Now it a new bike and SX and he can't even smell the top 5. It's Hill not the bike. If he gets his shit together his talent will shine thru again and be back to a legit contender.

Checking in to express my astonishment over JGR team's effort.
They managed to turn that 10th+ place slow outdated POS Suzuki 250F into a super powerful 1st place worthy bike within 2 weeks.
Not that it has anything to do with the rider, as bad results in previous rounds were the bike's fault clearly... Grinning
Good job Justin and JGR!

And both couldn't wait to jump out of it. Bike is outdated, which doesnt mean it's a POS and a talented rider can make things happen with it. But it's not up to par.

Also the team doesn't have the amount of data and experience with it that the other teams have so they are behind in that side too. When conditions go different to what they have tested they don't have past data to guide them.

That describes the situation when every new mx model coming out. The bike is good enough to win on, if you as usual find the right rider/bike settings.

Yes, as Hill just demonstrated it obiously is. People tend to magnify things, calling a bike a POS, or a pro rider not technical. The truth is all factory bikes are awesome, and all the pros are incredibly gifted. Diferences are minimal between them, but only one can win.

At what point does the rider actually take responsibility for a bad setup? Roczen blamed his 'setup' for the first half of 2016. I know some of these guy don't like to test, or even train, but you just can't throw your team under the bus about 'setup'.

The problem is they don’t train on what they race on! Kinda like a marathon runner training on the 50 yard dash.

I'm not an insider, but most of the teams seem to get their setup very close before the opener. I guess my point is that Hill has the same rep as his brother, a talented guy that doesn't really want to put in the effort....how much does that lack of effort carry over into testing and setup? I just hate to see JGR being dragged under the bus when they add a ton to this sport.

Hill has not blamed the team. He takes full responsibility for the setup, however, he wanted things that the team thought was wrong so he held back until last week with pushing on getting the changes through.

It is also a problem to train and test on prepped tracks. And it is hard to determine that you are 500ms per lap off, until you push yourself those extra percent in a race

The thing is Justin actually said that it's HIM, not the bike, and he needs to sort it out.
In the meanwhile (and before that), some Vital experts were dead sure the bike was unrideable.

That bike was kicking his butt until last week. It is on him because he has to give the feedback for the adjustments.

You got that all wrong. It was the bike, he has explained what it was. However, it was on HIM to figure it out. That is partly true but he cant openly throw shit on JGR.

Was quiet clear that Hill wanted to change certain things on the bike, and JGR did not want that. Hill says it is on him that he did not push harder and insisted for the changes until last week.

The only one wrong is you. Idk where the hell you got any of your information but you're way out of line. There have been no changes to that bike in weeks (shocker!!!)
