Why are so many people hating on reed? Obviously he’s past his prime but he wants to race and he’s having fun. Why are so many people
Upset about that? Still one of the most popular riders each week and had a solid ride last night

The hate being spewed from the dingleberries on this site is just jealousy. They teach that in first year psychology classes.

The man still enjoys racing his dirt bike, and is still good enough at it to qualify for SX main events. Why quit when he is having fun?

There is absolutely nothing bullshit about being able to qualify for the main event. People crying about him beating the record are completely fucking clueless. The fact that he is not willing to go crazy over his head right how and injure himself just to please a few of you fucktards, shows how smart he is.

I think if Reed can get some solid testing and training in now over the next month or so he will be within the top 10 and pushing for some top 5's by the end of the season depending on how races go for others. The opening passes he made early in the main would give him a bit more confidence as it's been awhile since being up front.

I gotta agree with what Twisted said. A healthy Reed is definitely possible for a top 5 or two.

I learned a long time ago to never count that guy out. Because when you do.....it'll just come back to bite you.

Hey whatever works. Limp along at the end like Peyton Manning to get a few more records, or be like Eli and decide not be gifted a record you don't deserve. Fact of the matter is Larocco was a threat antime he lined up, Reed now? Not so much, no matter how you try to spin it. Rc could show up in Texas next week and tune him up.
What are you talking about, be like Eli? You talking the record he lost cause he was benched for one weekend? Ignorant analogy.

And that main was the least grit I’ve ever seen Reed ride with at anytime in his career. At this point he should just pull what Tomac is startin to get known for, start the race and then take it to the truck when he’s not gonna win. I agree Larocco was much more competitive later in his career, but it’s a starts record, and it’s still not an easy task to stay top 20 for this many years. But if I was Larocco, I miiight find out where he’s training, and try to take him out when he’s on his road bike.

Very true. But he knew when his time was done. As did RC and MC, hell RC could still be qualifying today if he felt like it....as could Bubba. I like Reed but he knows he's done as a contender, regardless of the RB Straight Rhythm injury he wasn't gonna contend this year. Or next for that matter.
so, take Reed out of the main event last night, WHO takes his space on the line? how is that guy more deserving of that spot in the main than the man who beat him in qualifying for it? and is he more of a 'spectacle' or fan favourite than Reed?
"he's done as a contender,"- so down to what position do you think IS a contender? Shall we 'can' everyone after that position?

Very well said man. Doing it on his own terms , I think is something to admire. I don't get the negativity either.

Reed doesn't give a flying fuck about it either. That's not why he is racing

Reed vs Larocco? Really?

Wins, podiums, titles, and soon to be starts.

No disrespect to ML, but a good helping of it for folks here, trying to discredit Reed and bringing Larocco into it.

Never have been a fan of Reed, but actually root for him now. Shows you how important fitness, age, testing, and equipment truly are in this sport. More power to him. Go get the record Reed...you'vie earned it!

Time to stop? Nah. Dude could be sitting on a couch in Florida, a hand and forearm stuck between the swingarm and wheel of a factory 450, pulling off the track or mailing it in with no heart, or retiring at 27. Reed's way, the right way (for him). Doesn't mean it's the wrong way or time to stop.

So you're the man who gets to tell people when to quit racing? What's he supposed to do if he wants to keep racing?

Why do you get to decide when he's done? Typical of people these days.

The guy wants to keep racing. RV, RC and the likes were tired of it. Chad's not. So why fault him? He likes to go race and ride SX and doesn't feel like becoming a "brand ambassador" yet. Why the hell is this so hard to comprehend ?

The guy lost a few titles to two of the greatest in the sport, by a mere 5-10 points. I think even less 1 year.

He won two titles, and absolutely put wood to RC in the second half of 2003.

Going on 20 years later he still wants to race SX (more like Ride SX). Whoopdyfuckindoo.

It was just 1 year ago he top 5'd Vegas. And in 13 was beating dungey and RV and JS outdoors until Chadapult.

Knowing how stubborn Reed is he probably gets motivation to race just because it pisses off the sperg millenials who get outraged because he lines up fat as fuck every week and "takes someones gate spot".

Lots of butt hurt because their guy who “deserves” a ride is missing out.

I am the farthest thing from a Reed fan. But if the dude is qualifying, where is the issue? It is not like he is going to get a million dollar reward, or anything, for the most career starts. He goes out there and earns his gate pick, what more could you want.

Nothing wrong with Reed wanting to feel wanted. If he quit today very few people (if any) would recognize/acknowledge his existence in public. Outside of this sport these top pro's mean nothing to the world. Why would he want to trade a world where thousands of people know him for a life of anonymity? Let the guy have fun doing what he wants to do for as long as he can do it.

He ran down and beat the champ last year at Glendale.... The dude isn't slow. He's under prepared and out of shape. As for saying that's a bullshit way to get a record I see no stipulation on what position he finishes in the main. He just has to make the main

Agreed.

He was limping in the pits. He's injured. Give it a break. A few more weeks and he'll be top 5 or better. In the right circumstances he has another win in him.

Only circumstance he is taking win is riding Vet event or just by him self..
He is going for record most events watching from track and after that he will quit.

Some of the responses in this thread is exactly why a certain rider (won't say the name) isn't out there. You can't win! Either direction you go there are always people complaining about your choices.
