They've been racing for a long time. The home owner raced pro and his kids are currently getting ready for sx.

Its always made wonder why they(yamaha) got kids on a bike with the PW50 and then abandon them until they were ready for an 85 and even then only offed a bla version of the 85. I can't wait till my little guy is ready for a bike.

Would be ironic if Yamaha started re-pushing two strokes...

Sounds like a 2 stroke at the end of the video.

Even funnier was a higher up at Yamaha telling me they wouldn't be doing any new 2 stroke stuff.

The rest of the oems' should take note.

Riders who start young, stay with the brand they start with for a very long time. KTM understood this.

Honda used too.

Now with yamaha having a ttr and now a 65, it's a perfect stepping stone for them.

150's? F's? what joke. they didn't matter before and they still don't.

Maybe the few remaining oem's who don't get it are seeing sales drop so much that they need to figure it out.

Yamaha (I am a Honda guy) has kept up it's lines, We seen a slew of off road smokers at our park over the last couple years. Guess riders do still want to buy a new smoker that's old design at some point it's really developed as far as an Amateur rider really needs.

So you are telling me that maybe one OEM is realizing that the average age of dirt bike riders are getting older and that they have to find a way to get younger riders in the sport and the best way to do this is build a bike for the youngsters??? The world may really be coming to an end.

But seriously, a numberplate with $2.00 numbers?
Shoot, the piano had me going there for a minute.
The bike better deliver.
i remember stopping at the shop on the way to the race to get numbers and then putting them on in the morning after signup and before practice. one of the little things of the past that i miss about this sport.

I was just heckling not hating, haha it seems like they didn't spend a lot of money making that ad which is cool but with the dramatic piano music it would have been nice to see at least a part of the bike like the silhouette could have been the bike for example we actually use those cheap numbers because I'd rather spend the money on a new tire or entry fees or a piston if it were April 1st and they didn't have the Yamaha logo in there I would have suspected it to be a hoax

I'm glad to see my skepticism was misplaced. I blame Gibby---he's been calling us '2-stroke crazies'----among other things (under his breath).

I’m actually excited about this. Competition in the private sector. I mean Kawasaki’s 65s got a new style when I was on 80s and I’m 30 years old. KTM is only one left pushing the envelope. Hopefully it turns into an R and D War that takes these minis to a new level!

I’ve pretty much always thought my kid would go this route:

Cobra 50
KTM65
Yamaha85
kx100/105
2 stroke 125.

Now maybe the kid will be put on a yz65! How cool.
