Does it have anything to do with crossing the border? Certainly doesn't have anything to do with the attendance.
There's logistics issues with team trucks...weight and length regulation differences. Many teams have to rent day cabs to get their length down enough to cross, I've heard there's some major issues with paperwork as well...

Enough so, that Star Racing has gone across in a box van before and left the rig in the US.

And we've seen the rider's issues as well.

Thanks Michael. I knew about the truck stuff and paperwork but didn't think it was that big of an issue considering it's been on the schedule since 2005.

Still sucks to lose the only Canadian round.

Seattle, Minn and Mass should all be fairly easy rounds to make for a lot of Canadians...? Didn't we miss Toronto a few years ago due to stadium improvements being under-way? I could see Toronto coming back if it could be made a bit eager for the teams to "come and go" across the border.

If I were a Canuck, I'd go to Daytona and get some sun and enjoy a bit of bike-week. Not that I know anything about you sled-heads and your winters.

I'm of the understanding that Foxborough and Met-Life will be interchangeable/every-other year events.

Phew, I was concerned Cali wasn't getting more then 3 rounds. Glad they got that 4th in. Standing room only again I bet....

No Detroit blows as well. No supercross for me in 2018

Absolutely. Before the Toronto SX existed we used to make the trek Michigan (Silverdome) So bummed out by this.Not sure what we are going to do now.

Here is a picture of the Ricky and I back in the day talking about sprocket bolt torque, napping, pizzas and such before it was trendy.

There's a difference in those logistics and how each country deals with bringing equipment like that across the borders.

Congratulations Tampa, fill that stadium up fans if you want to keep it. Toronto see ya later, what are those rider problems, probably too much men's entertainment? maybe Visa's? Congrats DC, the squeeze play is off (for now).

Paris, Tokyo, Rio, Mexico City and Bejing will just have to wait their turn.

The border is a pain at the best of times but hasn't Feld been floating the idea of some European races? That will really make crossing into Canada seem like a rather small set of hoops to jump through. The amount of American trucks crossing everyday into Canada also makes me think these professional race teams and series promoter might need to hire some qualified people if they can't manage the customs paperwork.

Anyways I usually skip the race because the Rogers center gets pretty packed and I'd prefer to just watch at home instead of fighting the crowd. It hurts development of the sport though which sucks, lots of people up here enjoy outdoor activities so it's a decent market for the manufacturers to gain new customers and new people to the sport altogether.

In regarding Toronto, and I'm not saying it doesn't deserve it. Does nobody remember the Dean Wilson stuck in Canada fiasco? Not too mention the strain it has to put on teams that might have some mechanics, drivers, or maybe even a rider with a felony on their record.

My understanding is that the Toronto round is needed to keep the "world title" designation through the FIM. Obviously the series has not left the country every year since that designation was given, so there is some flexibility. Have you heard anything about the Toronto round being an every other year thing? I was surprised to SLC on the schedule again his year. I thought it was going to be an every other year thing as well.

Believe it or not we dont live in antartica and usually do ride throughout winter. Could be 70 and moto one day and 3' of snow the next and snowmobiling but considering being in socal for 3 of the rounds I will pass.

Another year and I thought all fans would be happy with the schedule. Imaging the surprise to learn that isn't the truth. Agast face.

Why are Metallica and U2 skipping Utah? That's the real question people should be asking. Are we not fans?

And some have jobs and family things needed, and can't vanish for 4 weeks.

that really blows metlife is off the schedule. So much for the nice 30 minute drive to watch a supercross, guess ill be doing the 3 1/2 hour drive up to gillette like in 2016...oh well better than nothing.
