You did not read what I said. I never posted any f bombs on this site ever! Nothing ever! I have always followed the rules or GuyB would had removed me. So let me say this again. I have never posted any curse words here on this site.
killing the sport and hacking 810s account

I said "the one guys opinion about D.C. Was way over the top"
I think you missed something.
Any of you hating been to a national recently? It's the complete opposite of this forum. I went to shoug last year and the crowd was huge. Even weirder? A guy barely in the top 10 got the loudest cheers lap after lap, even though the majority of this board can't stand him and thinks his fans have turned on him.
DC is doing a great job. You guys need to step away from the fantasy that is your computer screen.
We have every moto televised live for fucks sake! What was the TV like in 06? OLN, airing the week after?
Give me a fucking break.

To quote the late great motorist Rodney King: "People, I just want to say, can't we all get along? Can't we all get along?"
Now, back to your regularly scheduled Vital pissing contest...
As for your ASSUMPTION that I was referring to "past promoters"? Well, let's chalk that up to the OTHER POINT I MADE...here I'm referring to..."shit they obviously don't know"...and that appears to be you...AGAIN.
SOMEONE-ELSE was trying to slide in and grab The Nationals.
DAMN.
Please, jus' stop. You're embarrassing yourself.
I just got to dig into this thread. As usual, I'm reading backwards through it, which is an easy way to see what people react to.
You can go to anyone's profile and see their posting history. DC neither owns Vital (it's owned by my boss, Brad), nor does he have any special access. Your tinfoil hat may be wound a little too tight.
i have used it once,once
Concerning the cost of racing issue, at the amateur level anyway.
It was expensive back in the day.
I know it took most of my money as a teen and 20 something.
I think in the early 70s the min wage was $1.65 an hour.
Buy a bike, get it to the track, pay entry fees, and make it back home on that homeboys.
What amuses me, and kinda is a big part of the problem, I think, is the bling factor nowadays.
You can get a set of leather gloves at the hardware store for 6 bucks.
Or a set from a shop for 50.
Jerseys, what are guys paying for a jersey with polka dots on them?
A sweat shirt or long sleeve shirt can be had for under 10 dollars.
And that's just the tip of the iceberg.
Seems nobody is satisfied with making a stock bike work anymore.
Revalve this, triple clamp that, change the pipe for whatever.
Instead of just working with what you have, what you can afford, regardless of what the kid in daddies motor home
thinks or says.
But hey, I get it. You don't look the part , you don't have the cool gear, the cool bike, yer a squid.
You're not winning, you're not placing, it ain't the bike. It ain't the gear.
It's you.
Work out harder. Practice more. Keep the equipment you do have in as best shape you can. Maintain.
Sometimes, when I hit a local event, it's like I went to a race, and a fashion show broke out.
Hope Budds does not loose the national.

The "past promoter" was the NPG, which was founded by my dad in 1997. We have been running the series (along with the AMA and our fellow event promoters) since then. When the AMA decided to sell AMA Pro Racing in 2007, that's when things got sideways with Youthstream, as they were invited by the AMA to bid on the series and we were all concerned if they got the series, it would be absorbed into the GPs. In the end Daytona Motorsports Group got the whole thing and then allowed MX Sports, and not the NPG, to take over the rights and responsibilities for AMA Pro Motocross because the NPG was more like a roundtable than a business, and running the series full-time required an actual management company. So the same people -- my sister and I managed the business of the NPG after my dad died in August '98 -- are managing the series with many of the same promoters (Hangtown, Glen Helen, Colorado, High Point, RedBud, Southwick, Spring Creek, Washougal, Budds Creek, Unadilla). The series is thriving, we're going to have a USGP and we've never had more sponsors or better TV coverage. The rider count is down, but it's down everywhere. We're all trying to find ways to fix that, including looking at some of even Moto810's ideas.
It's a complicated story, if you haven't been paying attention, but it's working, thanks to everyone who supports the series and comes out to the races. Now if we could just get the costs of maintaining 250Fs down...

But just wait until three-stroke electric bikes show up and just destroy status quo....
Kidding. All in this together.

Its the right thing to do and could help revive participation. However, its not a panecea, by itself (I know you know that) and I hope people dont expect an overnight savior. It is a step in the right direction.
Maintenance costs for any pro will never go down whether it's 2 or 4 strokes. They replace stuff just so it doesn't break.
Until all or most of the manufactures make 2 strokes, I don't see how they will ever be relevant again.
Now if we can just fix front brakes on KXF450s......
Seriously,
I am cool with shooting 100usd to Budds Creek to keep it alive.
Maybe 500 of us can do this.
Jonathan has made so many memories for me. THANK YOU Mr John. Seriously........we camped there many years..
Please post the "free money for you" account.
Please dear baby jesus make this a thing.
