Sometimes I feel like im the only member on Vital who doesnt actually own/race a motocross bike.

If theres any consolation I do ride a dual sport (see avatar) and my wife has a TTR so we play in the dirt and have acres and acres of trails close to the house we hit up.

I plan on getting a YZ125 soon but until then I want to know if Im the only Vital member without a mx bike? Or the only member brave enough to admit it.

I don't anymore. Used to have a garage full, but a few bad injuries, the four stroke rise, new kid, paranoid gf/baby mom, and to top it off my mechanic(Dad) had a stroke. Still love it and my son rides all the time and I still follow religiously, but it's a young man's sport and Ive tapped out haha. Im only 37 though and after watching Vegas I have the itch again.

Sold my last bike in 2013 after 17 years of racing/riding Sad My 11 month old son will probably have a bike before I get one again Laughing

Just waiting for my one year old to get into riding (hopefuly he wants to, not gonna pressure him), and then i will be back in. Been just over a year now without one, and think about riding every day still, just dont really have the time with two kids who dont ride yet.

I have a few mx bikes again. After taking 16 years off from the sport and returning in 2014. Now I'm back to where I was when I quit before...I get all OCD about these builds and that's expensive. Then add to the schedule of working all week ,roving to tracks just feels like a 2nd job.
I'm wishing now that I had one Off-road model just in case I got the itch I could go.
Now I can't out from under these bikes.
Love following the sport, just don't have the passion to ride. Sorry for the rant. Lol
Just ride any bike, it's about having fun.

Still waiting to win the Vitalmx husky 300, then I will have a bike againEvil

I raced from about the age of 5 to 18. An injury set me back followed by hard times financially. While still struggling I found a bunch of cheaper hobbies to get into, i.e. cycling, hiking, climbing. I don't have that youthful fearlessness anymore, so even though I might be able to afford to go back, I'll stick to spectating!

Careful, you won't be allowed to have an opinion on racing.

I haven't had or even ridden a dirt/mx bike in years. Been riding Harleys since 1994.

Nothing at the moment. Sold my last bike a few years ago after an injury and a baby on the way. Got the itch for sure though.

I didn't have a dirt bike for over 10 years until a couple of months ago. Didn't know anyone else who had one. Now I do.

On a side note, I feel like I'm the only one here who A) isn't fast, Cool was never fast and C) has never raced. On a scale of 1 to 10, my level of riding is a 2. I feel like everyone else here is a 6+.

I have an XR250 that I kept as a play bike. Rode/raced from '91-2013. When dad quit riding in '13 (at age 63!) I quit too. Injuries, cost, and the fact that it was 2-4hrs each way to go ride. I used to be able to ride a real track 20 min from my house but it got shut down.

Always wanted my pilots license so I went and got it, then bought a plane. Lots of fun but if you think bikes are expensive to own/maintain...

Consequently plane will be sold at the end of this year. Kids are older (4/10) and they both want a ...you guessed it, dirt bike. Here we go again...

Don't worry, there are a whole lot of pro riders who don't own a bike either.

I myself own plenty, yet never can find time to ride. Plus, the closest track being 100 miles away does kind of suck.

Don't currently. Never raced. Always rode dirt bikes growing up and had a few Honda trail bikes through the years. Sold my last when I got engaged. My 5yr old has a TTR 50 and I follow him around our property on a four wheeler. Grad school coming up this fall, so I'm having to front tuition but after that I ll hoping to pick up a used XR/TTR/CRF230 to cruise on.

Only street bikes for me, grew up racing dirt ovals, but I have always been a fan of mx. Now watching in this era it makes it a lot easier to follow with all of the great mx content. This sport is a hidden gem, not known to many of the regular sheeple.

Does not matter one bit what your riding level is. The ONLY thing that matters is if you have fun riding.

This is the only bike I have right now, my ankle injury keeps me off the motocross track...

Wish I had something a little lighter! But it keeps me happy.

Dual Sport KTM 500 EXC
Ducati road bike (Scrambler)

I don't get the HATE on guys that are on the board but don't ride/race... I haven't had a bike in years (until recently) but that does not reduce my knowledge of the sport, my opinion or what I accomplished on a dirt bike. (LL's multiple years on multiple size bikes, Ponca City (back when it was something), worked with Ezra Lusk's dad, went to Gary Bailey school, even did a week with Holeshot Hansen in San Antonio with Rick Johnson as a guest instructor)

won more plastic trophies than I can remember or count... nothing beats the feeling of racing LL's

Its a young mans game. No shame in not out there race "county fair" races and taking the risk. My career and family are my focus...

Oh man all those sweet bikes and no where within 100 miles. I guess I could just sit and look at them all day.

None - but still think about getting one again. Especially when I see some of the nice mid 80's Hondas on here. Just my 636 right now but it keeps me quite happy.

A) I'm slow. As in if you see a guy getting lapped in C class practice, it's probably me. B ) I've raced. Enduro, hare scramble and MX. And the results were not good at all. C) I'm probably a 3 on your scale. I don't own a MX bike ( KTM trail ) but, I love the sport. I have since third grade and I'm 47 now. I pretty much just trail ride with the family now and love every mile of it.

Woods bike only for me...
Those speeds/obstacles are risky enough.
Smashed my foot yesterday...starting thinking for the first time "man...I really need to get some disability insurance"
It's all good though...looking forward to my weekend rides is a big deal for me.

Sold my current bike in 2010 right before my son was born, it was supposed to be six months off and then a new bike. Sold it to a now ex friend who was supposed to pay for it in 6 months. Ended up having to take less money and a bunch of crap I didn't want to in order to get it taken care of. Two weeks later he goes and buys a new 450. At that point I decided I'd just wait until he was a little older since a new business made buying anything new a not gonna happen. Almost 3 years ago I bought an 03 YZ250 to build, today it sits partially done, just haven't cared that much. I've ridden half a dozen times with friends since then but he's into Baseball right now so I'm assistant Baseball coach. I'm building a XR200/CRF150 to race with friends this summer but I don't really have that much drive to ride every weekend. I'm gonna build a 150 track on our property, maybe that will get me motivated. I am going to try to finish the YZ this summer while I can get a shit ton of money for it if I decide I don't want it. I really want an adventure bike, I think when I spend a bunch of money next it will be on one of those.

I'm the guy that has a brand bike and got hurt. I wasn't racing regularly anyway. I actually intended to bury myself in it this year.
