I bet he does what he did in sx. Top tens and an occasional podium

He missed 5 rounds this sx & is only in 13th so far. I'd say he'll do allot better in outdoors. Consistent top 5 would be great for him with a few races here and there even better..

I think he will be pretty solid. Top 5. Might take a few races to get gelled on the blue pig though.

I wish he could go to Honda or KTM and get off that bike. Pretty sure hes locked in for a few years though. I just pray that the 18 is a ,much better bike.

I loved all the threads in here saying how Webb would win this SX season, some suggesting multiple wins. He's had a pretty underwhelming rookie SX season, and I suspect outdoors will not be much different.

Top 5? He's got a lot of fast guys to beat regularly in order for that to happen. Not sure I see it at this point - would be nice, but maybe next year.

/\ This - I hate the current generation YZ450. It feels like you're trying to ride an elephant. Hopefully the 2018 isn't a turd.

People have short memories hes been up there outdoors on the 450.

He needs to get his confidence going again if he gets back into form he will be top 5.

He will do much better than his results in SX. He is a rookie 450 rider and continuing to learn and improve I'm amazed at how much the internet thinks Webb was a "bust".

The current Yz450 generation is a great bike. Those citing Barcia, Webb and Reed's results as evidence that it is bad just means you aren't paying attention.

It is wide up front. If you like a slimmer bike the fix is a simple $100 cycra powerflow shroud.

Coop seems to me like he is just waiting for MX at this point. I'll bet he is a fixture in the top 5 all summer with multiple podium appearances.

MX track are not SX tracks, MX has passing and depends on fitness....SX depends on starts...

After watching his MXDN and other races on the 450 top 5 is not unreasonable.

He has been conserably slower indoors this year than last, hopefully that isn't the case outdoors. Otherwise he is looking at finishing 5th through 10th, not exactly a great rookie premier.

We Did that too. It was better but it's still pretty wide compared to the other bikes

X2. KTM went after him and he choose to go with yamaha. I can see having brand loyalty, but that bike is a pig IMO. Just too big and bulky for a smaller rider like Webb, and the KTM/Husky or honda would be a good fit for him. Im sure he had the usual 2 year deal so hopefully he gets the bike dialed for outdoors. Time will tell.

You might want to tell Eli and Ryan your can't pass in SX? Maybe Anderson, Baggett and Marv as well...

If you think he's a top 5 outdoor guy, give me your list of the those 5? I don't have him on mine.

Hopefully Cooper can get up there and fight for the podium. Even top 5's will be tough to get when the field is healthy.

15 Factory 450 guys:
Dungey
Tomac
Musquin
Baggett
Anderson
Barcia
Wilson
Webb
Seely if healthy
Tickle if healthy
Canard if healthy
Pieck if healthy
Grant
Bogle
Craig

I wonder how his lap times would compare from last year to this year, I know different tracks and all but he actually does seem slower on the 450. Is that a checkmark in the 450 is too much bike column?

if you really think SX and MX have the same passing opportunities than it's not worth discussing that aspect of your post, other then Webb seems to have made a few late moto charges in MX previous seasons (albeit 250s) due to his conditioning or others lack of.

As my post stated "Top 5 is not unreasonable" here is my list, other then the top 3 guys, I'd put Webb as competitive as the rest.

Tomac
Dungey
Musquin Grant
Anderson Wilson
Canard (healthy?) Tickle
Seely Barica
Millsaps (canada?)
Webb
Bagget

He got a decent start and was around 6-7th on the first or second lap. Brayton was in 5th at that point and he was one or two people behind. He was taking a left 180 in a big rut hugging the inside when the camera cut away, next time the ticker went through he was in 22nd. So he had to of crashed/stalled around then.

He will be up there with Marvin and Anderson. Maybe not every Moto. But he will regularly beat Grant, Wilson, Seely and whoever else.

Dark horse will be Blake....

In his first two years outdoors, he was whooping Anderson's ass soundly, even after Anderson won the regional title.

He also came back from injury and immediately started competing with Musquin.

It may take him a while on the 450, but he can do it.
