...and If Tomac wins, points will be tied for the championship. In turn, I'm assuming the end result will have Tomac as the champion.

(Although a winner take all 3 lap sprint race would be interesting to see.)

When is the last time Dungey did worse than 4th?

Aside from Eli everyone in the top 5-7 is on KTM/Husky. Even in the event Dungey has a first turn crash or something, he'll wind up top 5.

April 24, 2014 New York. Dungey finished 6th.

Since then he has been top 4 every race. Even when some on this board said he would be lucky to finish top 5 before the 15 season started.

Still have to hold the race. Top 4 is tough to do.

The start will be key, obviously. If Dungey can get off to a top 12 start I think he's golden. If he crashes in the first turn it's going to be really tough. With the way this season has gone, I wouldn't be surprised at all if some sort of drama went down.

You do know that Dungey has never finished outside of the top 2 at vegas and has won 4 of 7 in 450 class? If any track suits his smooth throttle control style it would be vegas!!

Dungey would need to have a big crash and probably a bad start. He usually excels on hardpack and the long laptimes in Vegas give you a lot of time to make it up.

Short of Tomac actually taking the Dunge out, Championship is over. Dungey can can cruise around in the top 4 with no proplems.

If I had to pick someone to make a 5 foot putt to win the Masters, I would pick Nicklaus or Woods. If I had to pick someone to win a SX championship in a clutch points situation, it would be RC or Dungey.

If this season has taught us anything, its that anything can, and will happen. I was very surprised at last nights events. I was also surprised at how Kenny went out, Tomacs headless charge last week, the Reedgate incident, and so on. Crowning anyone is premature until the checkers fall in Vegas, not just in the 450 class. It can all change in a matter of seconds.

This has been a SX season for the ages.
