I think most people here are too young to remember when Elvis Presley died. For a long time people swore he was still alive and there were "legit" sightings and he was making a comeback. It was huge for a lot of years. Sounded then like all the James hype today. I think there are probably a few die hards out there still waiting for the second coming of Elvis.

Nope. Alive and well and catching the Denny's Early Bird special every evening in Tupelo.

So when James retires who will we make threads on every week?
Provide us with proof that he is not retired right now. As far as we can tell, he absolutely is.

Nothin' like mixing up Natty Light and Dinty Moore in the ol' system! I think this thread should be retitled to "Stew gurglings"

We were high class so it was Keystone Light tallboys and Dinty Moore.
I literally LOL'd at your response! My friends and I were known to "upgrade" to the bottled beer, in a can!

We were also known to add the "never expires" canned sardines to the mix too. I guess some people would label it a "cleanse", these days.

Yeah man!! I ate Dinty Moore by the campfire out in the Mohave back in the late sixties.
Good stew... I mean good stuff... sort of.
I'm sorry, what was this thread about again?

Not informing the fans who admired, supported, bought event tickets, bikes and gear based on his impact to the sport really sucks. What a major let down to string all these fans along, not give any info on a return or an intention of communicating to the the people who paid for his overindulgent salaries over the years. Go away Stewart, you are a selfish individual and a disgrace to the sport.

Cant blame him for sucking up the paychecks as long as possible. As long as we keep clicking on these threads he is still marketable and the paychecks will keep coming even if he does not race. Murica.

Ohh but how sweet it would be to see him at the line in Daytona.

Not that I think it will happen but this place would explode! If he was on super secret lockdown mode busting his ass training to say "Domino muthefuckas!!!!!!! Here I am!!!!! What ya got to say now????"

It would be the greatest PR event in the sports history!!!

On that note. If james was in natty light mode all last year and then did actually say " Fuck these haters I am gonna give it my all and train 10 hours a day every day and smoke some fools". How long do you think it would take him to get into top 10 shape?

again I can only dream.......

I think this is a bit much but......

Everything would be settled if he would just come out and state his intentions. Retire or whatever. I do think he owes his fans that.

I personally would like to know where the "he'll be back at Daytona" talk started. People were saying Oakland at first and someone asked Mookie and he said "Around Daytona" but I don't think anyone has said that he will be back for Daytona for sure.
Mookie....was the first one that said he will be back at Daytona at the latest.....

I don't mind what James is doing right now, I just appreciate the years of entertainment that bad ass has provided to us lovers of Moto. Being an Aussie, James was not my most liked rider at times, but could not stop watching James mind blowing raw speed. If he rides again, it will be huge for the fans. If not, he will be remembered for more good than bad.

The bears should have shown up as soon as an Elvis analogy was used.

This is like beating a dead horse. I'm a Huge Bubba fan and will always will be. I would love to see him make it to Daytona and see him race again and see him race the nationals. If he doesn't he doesn't. My thought on him coming back is he will because he said he was going to be back and race but I'm not him. I don't think anyone will know until the day he shows up. Seems like everyone's lips are sealed.

I'm a big pourcel fan. It's great to have your favorite riders come back but it gets tough thinking about what they were and can't do anymore.

Haha anyone that believes Stewart would play it safe especially at his best are probably still waiting for his big comeback.

I like many would love to see dude out there and if he is working to return, lets see it Bubba!!!

However, all pre-season long it was the usual vague information about his options and status or if he had his own team etc......people saying he was retiring bla bla bla..... but nothing ever " official "..nothing.... that is the part that bugs me most and certainly provides fuel for the non-bubba lovers....... if your out....say so and take your bow as you deserve a proper retiree send off - no doubt about that......he could have retired and been at every single race with his brother, talking to fans, industry and helping out little bro.. he could be also taking part in opening ceremonies to some extent to say good bye to his fans......if that is what he is doing...Reed will do it the right way come end of this year I bet....we will see chad SX next year...each week, saying later to the fans and the track as a rider..If james is done, it has been handled so so poorly...and that is SAD.

But, the night of A1 we get the " I'm not done...gonna prove you wrong " message and since then.....crickets.....not a flipping trustworthy piece of info since ...no interviews, no riding videos, pics or creditble rumors.......heck, you'd think he'd be at least pimpin his gear via videos and the such....but, yeah.....nothing......that part is the most frustrating

Officially " retiring " after this stunt and coming back in 2018 to say good bye would be waste......
