Ok I'm starting to lose faith in mookie.

I've been saying it for years, people need to realize that just because Malcolm shares the last name of James does not mean that he shares the same amount of talent is James. Malcolm is a good decent writer, but he's definitely no James and he is definitely not a top-five Supercross Rider. If he hovers inside the top 10 he's doing good.

So what does Instagram have to do with "Dtat720: Mookie needs to quit riding with the "world is against the stewarts" mentality."

I'd say the only one who clearly has a chip on his shoulder is you. Ease up on the Instagram and stop reading into what people are saying.

Like i said in my post, the list of guys who have done a lot worse than Malcolm in their first year on better equipment is very very long. People should think before they post.

the Fever refers to the fans, even if he finishes 20th, he's still got more fans than most of the guys in the field. Regardless of what a few Vitard haters think. LOL

He's doing a heck of a lot better than Barcia who is getting paid a heck of a lot more on better equipment.

Other than his cryptic instagram posts what has Malcolm written?

Mookie is a solid 10-14 place guy. If Kroc and Webb were out there add 2 more places backwards. Imo he is were he should be . With a healthy full 450 field,. Cracking the top 10 is good.

Who are these fast riders injured? Roczen & Webb? Come up with a better one than that! His problem has nothing to do with the field. Dude could get top 5 if he wound just fix a few things & calm down.

I agree. I have seen that he doesn't mention JS all of the time anymore which is a step in the right direction. JS has had his career, Mookie needs to just focus on himself. And not being able to consistently be top 10, maybe the teams were on to something with not signing him.
Who is going to interview him? His average finish is 14.2 or something like that. Who cares about a guy that finishes 15th week in and week out. He is a crasher and maybe always will be, who knows? He looks good in the heats but so do many other riders. The only race that counts is the main, and quite frankly he has sucked in the mains.

People wonder why he didn't get a Factory or near Factory ride, now you know. Team managers might know a little bit more than we know about what makes a great rider and what to stay away from. Flame away boys..

Yeah, I like Malcolm a lot...but I have to agree. He's as good as he can be, but doesn't have the same skill set as his big brother. Also, remember that he's coming in late to the series and coming in "off the couch" so to speak. Some guys are just so damn good that they can effectively race themselves into shape, and some just can't. I think he'll bust into the top-10 this season, but he won't finish there, IMO.

The battle for 6th through 17th is pretty amazing right now. That is some big time riders that are in that mix.

He just needs to get some better starts and not crash and he will be closer to the top 10 in my opinion.

The list of riders who have done worse Than Mookie in their rookie 450 season, even on Factory Equipment is long long long long... This thread is full of worthless crap from know-nothings.

Dtat720: Chip on his shoulder???? are you a moron? he's one of the funniest, fun-loving guys out there. What planet are you on? Sounds like you're not actually paying attention to what is going on, more like just imagining it in your own mind and injecting your bias.
When you're done blowing Malcolm you can read this.

To me Mookie just doesn't seem to have the fitness, I think evidence of this is how great he's been in heat races and semi's but can't seem to keep it together in the mains. He's crashed in every main but one I would say that's hardly doing better than Cole Seely's rookie year where he got a win, I think it would take a miracle for Mookie to win right now.

Unfortunately they don't reward points based on your position at the mid-point of the race. He needs to improve his fitness. It would also help him stay off the ground.

Yeah Chad had it dialed. Tomac never really got it figured out though. Looked terrible in the first heat with his back end squatting and bouncing everywhere. Main he was doing the jump method mostly but the rear end looked better. Looked like he had never ridden compared to Malcolm.
Chad finished 7th and crashed at the end of the whoops and his best lap was a 53.1. Mookie finished 15th and his best lap was a 53.9. Eli finished 2nd and had the fastest lap of the night at 51.9, a full two seconds faster than Mookie's best lap. I'd say whatever Eli was doing was working as he closed up to less than 2 seconds on Dungey at the line.

Quit back-peddling.

It's a direct quote, I'm not interpreting anything:
"Dtat720: Mookie needs to quit riding with the "world is against the stewarts" mentality."
I've seen no evidence of him riding like the world is against him, don't even know what that means...Maybe you don't either. But you said it! Now you say I'm not sharp, and I'm amped up? Along with 'good lord man, get off your high horse, knight in shining armour, and Good god... so i'm no expert, but speaking of amped up ....just relax.

The rest isn't directed at you, just a comment in general.

He's a privateer, in his rookie year, who came into the season late and with no setup or practice time on his bike. Considering that, he's doing pretty good, and anybody who's reasonable will see that.

I'd defend any rider in the same position.

I reckon he will come good and start getting top ten regular before season end, come on it's a rookie year on a ride that was apparently put together a long time after everybody else is already established., what can we really expect right now? I'd like to see better but I'm not losing faith in him, it's a tough mid field

Plus like has been said, there are a lot more out there doing worse.

He's got speed, fitness and weight loss will come over the season when he decides

Poor Malcolm, like pitting out of a semi and having to ride that P.O.S with only a yosh motor and factory suspension isn't enough he has to ride the best practice tracks. We should start a gofundme to help that struggling privateer.

Doesn't this make his results even worse? If he was starting last and working his way up would be an excuse, but starting up front and moving back doesn't do anything for you except qualify you for a Motoconcepts ride

This may come as news, but he's a rookie to full-time 450 action. He's figuring it out, and still dialing in the bike. When I was talking to him in Atlanta, he suggested that even A2 was early as a starting point for the season.

Give him some time.

There's no time for common sense here, it's a Stewart thread. Wink

I think he's doing good for a rookie that's not on a factory bike, and has shown more speed than I was expecting.

I would bet that him and his team are pretty happy with his results and exposure so far. Smile

You sure do have to read a lot of pessimism around here. Dizzy

It was in reference to several of his instagram postings before and right when he started racing. They were all in reference to having to go it alone, no help, if he spoke the truth.... a chip on his shoulder coming in. I like Mookie, I think hes doing just fine given what hes working with, but I feel, in my own opinion, if he didnt have that attitude at the start, he wouldnt be pushing so hard to prove something, he would be making less mistakes. Basically, If he had Wilsons attitude of just being thankful he has the opportuntiy to race at the level only a few in the world can do, we would see a different mookie. I could very well be wrong, but thats how i see it.

mookie fever got more than a cold LOL.
My interpretation of my Mookie Fever catching a cold is just being bummed. I'm probably too much of a fan of Malcolm to be objective, but I see him as an easy top ten and top 5 at times.

No one's happier for Webb's podium than me as I love seeing new 450 riders having success. I see that kind of success for Mookie too. He's shown great stuff at times and looking forward to the next 9 rounds for him.
