I would love to see a National at Sears Point today. I'm not sure the current riders would know what to do.

Do you recall the previous Crick track that was used in the 90's before this one? Think it's been built on now, was a big track with some big hills used for nationals.
I have heard of it but never went there, I lived in Somerset then, if you know where it is il go and take some photos for this thread, there's a 3rd Crick track recently opened so as a moto village it lives on!!!!

Great photos and story's guys, I love this stuff!!!!

this is the old Hangtown race in Plymouth Ca, south of where its held now at the Prarie city Ohv park. Im too young to have been there but my dad tells me how it was quite sandy, which is much different than most of Cali's clay based tracks.

A few years back I remember talking to Dave Coupe, he had visited the site to try to get a one off race going out there but it never materialized due to the current owner

Before Silicon Valley was Silicon Valley, there was a motocross track in the heart of Santa Clara, walking distance from present day Levi Stadium.
It was known as the PAL track (Police Activities League). Here's a video of it:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7nEclsACtHU

Today, Dell Computer and Hortonworks occupy the space:

After it got shut down, the guy who ran it went on to open up a track about 40 miles away which continues to run open practice to this day.

Cooperland in Stillwater OK. I remember riding with Canard, and watching Justin Bogle and Colt Nichols at the state races.

I have no pictures but anyone that lives in Kent, England may have seen or ridden the track that was just past the Sittingborne junction on...
I have no pictures but anyone that lives in Kent, England may have seen or ridden the track that was just past the Sittingborne junction on the M2. You can still see the table top with the tunnel underneath it. Just been left as it was the last time it was used. Not sure when the last time it was used but I rode it in the late 90's, stoney as hell.
I always look across at that place whenever I drive past, shame it got closed down for noise, that chalk surface was pretty unforgiving!

I go past that track most days, I think I rode the last day there in 2002 I think, but it got a bit scarey , was a big 4 wheel drive thing on there at the same time as the bikes!
The one that got me started was the illegal one at Cobham mausoleum, on any Sunday there might have been up to 50 bikes of any type , stolen cars and trikes all going in different directions as fast as they could through the woods with lots of people watching getting drunk and having fires! Needless to say the ambulances made regular visits! It's a nature reserve now and I should imagine if one bike was to go there now it would turn into a major police incident ! Lol

Yeah I remember that place. Never rode there but walked up there one time & it was a wreck. They've done a good job of restoring it.

Closed down for noise? It's right next to the motorway, the councils are a joke. Dust going across the carriageway probably didn't help either lol. You probably remember Jewels Hill & the track at Stone Lodge?

Raced the Suzuki RM cup there in 1997 80cc 12-13 class. Being from New York I had never seen red clay like that! It was a really awesome track

Wow, I didn't realize Cooperland was no-more. Is it just the public track that's gone or did Coop sell and move?

Abandoned but not forgotten. Texas has not been the same to me since these tracks closed.

Camp Coker MX in Society Hill, SC has been closed for several years but we had a GNCC for the first time there earlier this year and will be back next year. Also have some pics on my laptop of Larry Ward's old Supercross track there but deleted them from my phone.

I'm on board it was the best ever. I rode the last time they were ever open and didn't know it until after the fact. I live less than 2 hours away now too. Man I miss that place.

VDR in northern Colorado was going the way of the dodo.
Luckily, a local moto store stepped up to the plate, leased the property, and had Dirt Wurx build a pretty cool new track.
VDR is dead, long live Berthoud Moto Park

The interesting part about this facility being sponsored by a moto store is that they cater to what they sell.
In addition to the moto and kid tracks you'd expect, they also have a quad and side by side track (to be further segregated into 2 tracks from what I heard)

I hope they make it. It is only 20mn from my house. I just hope they also add a flat track.

Guy Cooper did not own it any longer when it went away. I do believe he owns the "500" still (a different riding area near Stillwater), but he did not own Cooperland for years prior to it going away. Loved that place. I raced there quite a bit in 2004 and Wil Hahn was on minis, and a pretty funny lil shit in the pits. Bogle, Canard, Johnny Marley, Robbie Reynard and his Dad and BQ365 and his dad were at all of the races regularly.

I had no idea about the Society Hill track or the history. I did a tough mudder race back in 2012 that took place primarily on the game preserve but around the 13 mile mark I realized that I was now running on an old moto track. I braap'd my way to the finish line

I did love racing there! That one and motorcycle raceway "59th & Douglass" was the best dirt and layouts around.

My dumbass would go to practice on a work night to 59th and struggle on the turnpike to stay awake on the way home to Tulsa
Got a hell of a workout at that track
Perfect Oklahoma dirt
I loved that place
Just wish I had the skill and balls to jump that tunnel jump like Robbie

Oh yeah, two vivid memories were Lackey and a young Wardy on matching Kwackers launching off a hilltop jump in the back, in high gear, pretty sketchy and fast, and Magoo launching off the top up some of the road cuts on a '78 Maico 250.

59th and Douglas. It could re-open to this day as far as the land is concerned.

Cooperland was awesome. The sat pics show water where the canyon rhythm sections where what a shame. Miss that place. BTW, Cooper never owned the 500. It is owned and operated by the city but Coop and family have been an integral part over the years

A little trivia. These two photos below are of the same track one photo closer than the other. Saw epic battles of Cooper and Palmer, Emig and Jimmy Gaddis, etc. Anyone remember this place?

Camp Coker was the first track I ever raced at, and my first time on a "sand" track. Needless to say, it did not go awesome. Laughing

Track grew on me over the years, and I hate that I didn't get to race there more than I did. I believe Hank Moree's family might have owned the track. Moree was once a top amateur(team green?) and rival of Damon Bradshaw.

A group of us would always sneak off to Larry Wards SX track on the property and ride bmx bikes once our motos were over. Also remember watching some epic battles between Ward and local pros like Jim Neese over the years. One off-season Ward showed up on what looked to be a fully prepped Honda of Troy bike and several of us were drooling all over it. I could go on and on about that place. Good times.

I'm just kidding. If you consider the amount of days they are open in a year they might as well be considered abandoned.
