I spend most of my days sitting at the edge of my bed in the cannonball position fighting off tears because I sold this bike a few years ago. 69 Scrambler 450 that I completely restored. I saved all the original chrome, repolished all of the original

It was a new frame that I bought from a private seller.

I don't jump, so it wasn't that. My riding is 95% XC. I was cruising through the woods when I heard it break. If you've ever heard someone break a tib/fib...that's exactly what it sounds like. I agree - it's a weird place for the frame to break, considering ... more »

Hey fellas, I just broke my second name brand full carbon 29er HT frame in 3 years. I was wondering if any of you other guys had similar problems and I simply need to either go aluminum HT or a FS bike? The first was a Focus Raven full carbon frame.

That place looks very cool. Would you prefer the ride at Jake's Rocks or the IMBA Epic in Ellicottville, NY?

I hit up Snowshoe 2 years ago on a HT 29er.....glad I rented a full face helmet for the day. It is a really cool place with great views. Rent a decent bike if you don't have a FS bike.

Yep - I rode there 2 years ago on a similar trip and really enjoyed the trail system/area there. Thanks!

I'm looking for good trails to pedal/ride. I've read good things about Kingdom. Thanks for the reply!

Hey Fellas, I'm putting together a quick road trip starting July 6 from Charlotte NC through Harrisonburg, VA and then into New Hampshire and Vermont, ending up at the Southwick National on July 10. The plan is to drive some, ride some, relax a little, ... more »

I graciously accept your nutty compliment. I don't remember how the idea came to me, but I'm glad it did.

Yep. You go it. If I had to do it again, I'd have probably gone with a weave pattern that is more bold and stands out better. To see the brilliance of the CF under the epoxy, you have to stand over it and look into it a bit. All in all, things look good. ... more »

Throughout the process of waiting on epoxy to cure, I ended up ordering 5 piece canvas prints for 2 of my favorite photos and building 2 frames to finish things off on the living room walls. 1 is of my 67 Chevelle SS on the Tail of the Dragon. The other

I taped off the 3 edges where Tyvek tape would stick. I spent a few days brainstorming of ways to dam the bark side edge. I settled on some 3/8 silicone backing rod wrapped in Tyvek tape. I then tacked it into the wood, following some of the natural

As it turns out, any asshole can do it a third time. Things worked out great, aside from staying up until 2am waiting for the epoxy to be just right. I laid down the weave when it was just tacky enough, put a slight clamp on things, and let it finish

I had really good luck with the first layer - I let the epoxy cure to the point that it was just tacky enough to grab the CF. I set the cloth in place and let it cure over night. The next day, I was able to trim the loose edges with the knife. It was ... more »

AJ565, I had an idea that I wanted to bounce off you. Rather than trying to cut the cloth to size on it's own, I was thinking about cutting a piece slightly oversized. I'd lay it in the mortise when the epoxy is tacked up to the point that it grips but ... more »
