People who voted for Trump seem oddly worried about the classroom.  You voted for the side that wants to get rid of the dept. of education and teach whatever they want (not based on any factual information).  I won't even touch on the project 2025 lunacy that should send us back to the 1800s.

We might as well go back to accusing women as witches at this point. If I accuse some rich woman in La Jolla of being a witch, at least I can get her sweet property!😄

Side note: Sounds like republicans already submitted something to cut social security down.  Before anyone whines that I'm a whining liberal, I'm not.  I hate on both sides equally when they do stupid shit.

Take a quick look at some current college campuses and you might see why we are concerned about the dept of education.

I agree though, our education system is not thriving as it is. It needs to get better (focused on core curriculum learning).

Last I knew he wasn't connected to it but Liberals sure love to parade it around like it was his idea and he was campaigning on it as his holy doctrine.

I've read that Trump is actually not directly involved or officially wanting to implement it but I'm not sure that really matters much, honestly. I haven't really done a full dive into how much his "plan" is similar or deviates from that stuff, it's just clearly a republican initiative.

I have no way to really compare really old school education vs today, all I have is my experiences and what I want to see happen for my daughter.  Things change as well, we don't teach science the same as we did in 1940 because scientists have made new/evolving discoveries.

I just want education to evolve by keeping it simple. Base curriculum on reading, writing, math, science and arts/PE. Let's not worry about taking away books that offended some Karens or passing out trump bibles.

While I don't know that's the causation, I do think certain things are not as quality. Like the ability to self solve problems. The kids today come out of school with far more knowledge that I did. But, a big but, they tend to be information finders rather than information creators. Their first thought is to go to youtube to find the answer they need, and if it's not there, they move on. But to actually solve problems without a computer present many are lost. But as far as what they learn? They learn some cool shit. When my kids were in HS 15 years ago, they spliced dna from jellyfish into bacteria to create a colony of glowing bacteria. Think crisper. So they do learn stuff way more advanced than I ever did and they will advance the worlds technology but what we think of as basic knowledge seems to be unimportant to them these days.

That's a long, interesting topic of conversation but I agree with what you're saying.  It's at least somewhat a byproduct of new technology and the computer/AI age.  Younger people do not have the same problem solving skills, overall, that people needed in the past.

Dems got fucked so hard by the pronoun people it could be direct sabotage.

Anyway, these orgs and their lawyers write the legislation then hand it to the law-makers to introduce for passage. It's how right wing laws are born.

When I asked if people agree with what mr trump said about tariffs I was told that what he said is not what he meant and what he said he was going to do is not what he is going to do, so on that advice I don't believe what he says or doesn't say.

At 5.50 Haha soo funny, her laugh is Great too. Thd 2nd woman had good points but missed a few.  1 of the things dems hv been doing since 08 is bringing in child& slave labor. Food manufacturers it’s ridiculous. Little kids with baggy white outfits wearing loose fitting hard hats.  He needs to give the per diem tax credit back to traveling workers. That keep this country going & built it, the sales & buisness people etc.  a straight 12k tax credit is laughable.  You can hv 3-4 times that.  Must haves for work boots, computers, special work cloths, tools, etc. be able to claim that like yrs ago.

Not a fucking chance I would send my kid to a public school today.     The indoctrination lunatics are rampant.

Not everywhere.  My kids go to Public School and it's awesome.  But the school is also tiny in comparison to the monstrosities that are in major cities where your kid is just another number and you have zero personal relationship with the teachers and staff.

Ditto.  That's why my proposal a few pages back referred to Left or Right.  There's kooks on both sides.  Unfortunately,  the woke-mind-virus has infected academia waaaaay more than any right-wing kookery has.   And upper level education is 99% gestapo libtards nowadays.   The curriculum they have  (much of which is required classes for a degree plan) are absolutely looney.

Just look at the example he gave.

"I have never mentioned my political affiliation but we are in Southern California and they have been taught how statistics work. They would make their best guess and choose Harris because more adults here voted for Harris. "

Kids look to adults for wisdom. They are like a sponge that soak up information. So we'll tell them that "most of the adults" voted for Harris under the guise of teaching statistics. So now you can get the kids to believe that most people like Harris without actually saying most people like Harris. And then claim "I never inject my views" LOL actually ROTFFLOL

Talk about a damning admission from someone actually indoctrinating our kids. And being a teacher, didn't even realize they just confessed. Our poor kids.

Random thought.... Can you imagine how much of a blow out victory this woulda been if the Republicans woulda ran a decent candidate that wasn't as polarizing as Trump?

Probably a couple million votes for Kamala just cause folks couldn't bring themselves to vote for Trump.

Hard to imagine as "terrible" he is, is how bad he smoked her. Shows how bad she and the dems really were.

Time for the dems to hit reset, can't be all about buzz words and republicans bad.

My guess is she'll be done with politics after a drubbing like this.

When it comes to schools (public, private, charter)...especially elementary schools (this is less true in Jr High, and High School)...the kids get out of it what the PARENTS put into it.  If school isn't a priority at home, the kids aren't likely to succeed at even the best schools.

Similarly, parents who have education as a priority in their homes, are also the families who are less likely to have behavior issues, kids who have less behavior issues are more likely to do better at school (and then in life)...this is why I keep saying the solution so many of our societies issues isn't more government...its stronger families.

Nope, you've got it all wrong. This wasn't an election, this was a movement. And no other republican could have done it. If not for Trump, RNC would still have Rona. All fucked up. If not for Trump, Elon would never have bought twitter. No other republican had the gonads to stand up to all the lawfare and come out stronger. The republicans have always been spineless letting the media have it's way. We needed the strong fight back attitude that only Trump has ever done. Without Trump running, We would be looking at a second Biden term.

School campuses are not open to the public during school hours. These places are full of minors with a high student to adult ratio. All adults allowed on campus who can be with students without another adult have been cleared by the state DOJ or other authority.
