It's the money he's being offered... In his head he thinks he's worth X amount and the people WITH the money think otherwise. He needs to accept reality of what he's worth and not think he should be making what his brother is(if that's his train of thought) ...some money is better than no money.

Please do explain how James is bringing Mookie down.

Malcolm has always had a ton of admiration for James, rightfully so. If Malcolm is being brought down by James, it is his own choice. You make it sound like James is forcing Malcolm to do something when none of us have a damn clue what they are even up to. Such a dumb thing to say.

Agree with everyone else on the drama stuff. This never ending, no answers saga is getting so old. If you got something to say, say it already.

It's too bad too, I really like Malcolm and I hate to see him blaming him not having a ride on racism. That's just wrong on so many levels.... Mookie will do great on a 450, but he's got to find a team that is willing to deal with Big James. (THE REAL PROBLEM, IMO) This will NOT be easy , but I hope he is on the line when A1 comes around.
What specifically makes you say that Big James is the real problem. I've seen a few people say or infer that this past year, but hadn't really seen it in the past.

I'd always seen most post of the opinion that James was supportive, but didn't try to overstep the way Tony Alessi had in the past. I hadn't heard about James trying to interfere with team managers, sending out works parts for disassembly, etc.

Just curious what it is that you believe would be causing Big James to truly be a negative to signing Malcolm.

IMO , Big james is a huge problem ,and always has been for james jr. I thinks that s why all his bikes are set up so terrible to ,ie ,way too stiff forks. Go look at any of the yoshi vid s they put up . Big james was always telling him how to set up his bike and what lines to take etc. When i am sure yoshi prob had a guy there who knew a hell of alot more .its a bit like kroc s dad doing the same .

IMO; This sport has never let race be an issue. It is always about results and marketability.

To win a title and then take the summer off when the rider market is flooded with talent but a drought in terms of money, you have only yourself to blame if you are not getting what you want.

Guys gotta keep themselves relevant all the time.
Just sayin....

P.S. I am not a fan of the new found "I am a victim" mentality.

Why do you think its about the election and racism? Dizzy

My first thought was that its about that he only wants to ride dirtbikes, but at this level its about so much more. Its a business, money and getting all the sponsors together and trying to figure out a way to ride for a good team.

I definitely agree that all this "drama" stems from the BUSINESS side of the sport... Not politics or anything. I think this most recent post highlights that

From where I'm sitting; my only guess is Malcolm wants so badly to have James at the races (actually racing) this year, and has probably just about exhausted all options trying to use his own success/leverage to bring James into the picture with whatever deals he's got on the table. Sounds like he's starting to except that this likely isn't happening...

Oh really ? Obviously that family has a formula that has worked GREAT for them. They have accomplished a lot in the sport doing things the way they do and with who they want and when.

I don't think Malcolm's post has anything to do with race or election stuff. I think he was wanting to be a part of a two man team with James , and they can't seem to get something going , with the bikes , parts and enough money to make it worth while. I see Malcolm as trying to be super loyal to his brother , but they aren't finding any descent help as long as James is part of the bargain. I think there are a few teams out there that would love to take Malcolm , but again this first full year on the 450 , most MX2 guys moving up don't make much at all.

I also see it as Malcolm's career is just starting up , where James is on the down side. And if he wants to try and leave a mark in this sport , he's going to have to do it solo. He's also going to have to want to do the nationals as well. Hopefully we see him at A1 , as I know I sure would like to see him out there. Let James deal with his own stuff , like he's always done in the past.

The last few years have been a complete train wreck. This is what most teams see and know. They have been through it , or know people on other teams that have gone through it. The most recent team ( Suzuki ) could probably fill you in on a bunch of the weird shit that has happened , and you can bet that it's one of the deciding factors these teams look at before hiring a rider.

Anyone else having trouble trying to determine what the word "It" refers to in Malcolm's post? "It" leads to speculation. Mission accomplished? Or have I missed some hidden clue? Hmmmm.

i just think teams want to deal with it . plus how many times has JS7 crashed the exact same way 100 s , all caused by the same thing . image how many time s ever team has begged him please change your set up . But james only listens to Big james . Teams get fed up of this imo.

I heard somewhere that James sets his bike up strictly to be able to blitz the whoops. And everywhere else he just has to wing it.

Malcolm just raced and he's going to race again this weekend. People make it seem like it's such a damn mystery. The guy doesn't have a ride. Pretty simple. Honestly, you're not even worth debating with. You base whether you like a racer or not on who he votes for? Cool, bro.
11/10/2016 2:17pm
Perhaps he's thinking back to the good old days, when most idiots were still over at RX or redneckracing.com and this place was actually about dirt bikes, and had a lot of good humor. These days, not so much.
11/10/2016 2:19pm
Geico might feel a bit more inclined to do a 450 deal with Malcolm if he would have rode outdoors for them. Maybe they didn't care otherwise at the beginning but they had to of asked Mookie to fill in once injuries started happening, right? The team definitely could have used him out there.

I know it's easy for me to say this but I think both Malcolm and James should put the money up for the bikes they need and go racing although I'm sure if they were interested in doing that the wheels would in motion on it by now and I don't blame Malcolm for wanting to be paid to race, he definitely deserves it.

Maybe it's just me but there's probably a few reasons he's without a ride.

The money he's asking for, quite possibly teams are tired of the family entourage, and not racing outdoors. He's not mc and chad reed who earned the right to do that. Yea, his reasoning was he's too big, but that geico bike is probably as fast as a stock 450 and I don't think you'd find anyone who thinks he's better outdoors than Webb and jmart anyways. Point being I don't think the team expected him to win.

It's all speculation of course but there's a valid reason in all this as to why he's not signed in November.
