I'm not reading any of this retired old man bench racing but this is the answer. 3 championships in 7 years due to injury. More people get hurt and have bigger injuries in the big boy class especially their rookie year. He will get injured or be too inconsistent while racing the men. He will be seen as a little bike specialist when his career is over. This is his top and the fall begins now.
Haha, I will enjoy the outrage over this troll post lol....

Great ride by the champ, showing the world that he's one of the best no matter the competition.

To all my European friends: You really don't need to defend JH. It appears there are a couple of american teenagers posting on here making stupid comments about JH. In my mind, he is arguably the fastest 250 rider in the world and has been for some time. Yes, Cooper is capable of beating him on a given day but these two are top 5 riders in the world. I used to bag on Jeffrey for sandbagging but I have a new respect for him after his humility in recent interviews. I truly believe he is the fastest GP rider and can beat anyone in the world on a given day and track. The guy is an amazing talent and I look forward to seeing him in the future. And no one comes close to him on the sand. And these races in the US haven't changed my original view of the speed of the GP riders. They are deeper in the open class and clearly less deep in the 250 class. At this point....I put Kroc, Tomac and Herlings in the top 3 and believe any of them could beat each other on a given day. Maybe a slight edge ti Kroc right nowWink Wink

Won't be too much outrage. People know by now the singletotable is a bit of a dunce.

He has already proven his worth in MXON in 2012. He lapped Tim Gajser twice .. Ok it was sand but it's the same for everyone and they are all professional racers. He destroyed everyone. Look how far off Roczen was

Roczen rode the 250 bike!I have no doubt that he would have been second behind Herlings on the big bike.

I really think riding under the lights at night affected Herlings the most.

He's one of the biggest and heaviest riders on the 250. That won't be an issue on the 450.

He's going to CRUSH IT in the sand on the 450 SXF-FE.

Basing off his interviews, he actually seems like a pretty decent guy. I'll be rooting him on in MXGP or if he comes over here eventually.

Really, how many people mention in an interview 1 week after getting beat straight up, that they're the best "lites" rider ever. Don't care how many GP victories he has, you just lost, you've never raced the AMA, and your the best ever. Dudes back to being a tool. His gallatically inflated ego and massively narcissistic personality are going to make him the most hated champion in history. That is one record he will have no problem beating and holding for a long time.
How many MX fans quote a racers comment out of context and then attack his character based on doing so? If you are going to quote someone for purposes of highlighting their personality traits, you should include their entire statement rather than take one single word out of context then place it in your own context. Actually, this is what Herlings said,

“We had a very successful lites career. I think I was the most dominant 250 rider in history for the world championships.”

"Dudes back to being a tool. His gallatically inflated ego and massively narcissistic personality are going to make him the most hated champion in history."Dry

This one's a decent father in his cap and only a couple of weeks after his 17th birthday too.;)

The way a lot of you guys post about this race you would swear that JH won the overall but GP won the Moto and then RV got the start and destroyed everyone to win again at the MxDN. Also it's feather.

He was beat by a rookie straight up in Moto 2 that he was close behind all race, albeit the fastest rookie we have had since RV. The problem Is with people labeling him the as the FMOTP(motocross) is that he was just beat by a rookie... Could you Imgine K roc getting beat by a rook or Dungey and Tomac? Wait till you win some races in the big boy class before you get labeled the FMOTP which he will. As far which series is deeper... Injuries play a bigger role than anything not location.

I lost it when you said "I REWOUND IT 10 TIMES TO MAKE SURE HE SAID BLAH BLAH."

When's the last time your rewound the tape 10 times to rewatch a pass or corner? And then continued to post about something awesome?

Probably never and that's you in a nutshell sippin on that banana haterade flavormade juice.

Kroc actually got beat by a rookie at Valkenswaard. The Rookie passed him, crashed, closed the gap and passed kroc again and ran away another 12 seconds. Wink

Yep I'll take those top 3 also. Dungey Febvre Gajser and Webb are all right there with them as well. Any of those guys could pull off a w against eachother.

Yeah but that was when KR was racing GPs. When he got to America he had to get alot faster in order to win. Cool

Just saw his interview here, he said he hasn't decided yet if he was racing at MXoN and by the sound of it probably won't :

Better he does, more he looks like a pussy. That's the thing.
He could have gone against TC, and RV2 or anybody and beat them straight up. But he didn't have the balls to do it.
He might be the best, but he is pussy for sure.

Riders are different. Roczen is a guy who can get pretty mental from a confidence standpoint. And it took him a little to overcome that. I think Herlings has a different mentality. More of a Pourcel type and I think that works a little better making the trip across the Atlantic.

I think Herlings would be a little rough in SX but I think he is young enough to pick it up and get good at it with some seat time. His talent is off the charts

As the topic states and the op describes.. this is about if Herlings is one of the greatest in the world. NOT if he's the absolute best of everybody on any track at any given day. Some of you twist the subject. Going by some of your logics, its safe to say now that Herlings is a far better rider than Webb. (Yes it's silly ain't it.)

Anyway on topic, Herlings has absolutely already proven his worth a long time ago, and keeps doing so by being at the top of the vast majority of event he enters.

Agreed. Herlings and Gajser both are young, fast on a 450, and have styles that suit racing in the states. Those two have the best chance at AMA success
